You probably mixed the wires. Go and ask on a Ford forum or search for the repair manual image for the correct connection order for the wires.

Testimonial: "I did that and tried both patterns and still popping through the throttle body"

No spark to engine 1991 ford pickup

It can be faulty or dirty spark plug itselfd. Also for reference get the fuel level checked. Is the fuel tank is empty or near to empty.
Try cleaning the spark plugs and then see if that is helpin. On some cases the black carbon layer gets collected on the spark plugs and that causes the problem,so cleaning the plugs help. But if its not helping, then spark plug has to be replaced.Spark plugs get power from ignition coil to ignite sparks. If ignitioncoils are faulty then also there will no spark.--------------

Replaced sparkplugs and sparkplug wires, now runs rough. I checked connections all tight. check firing orger, looks right. run good till I touched it. Help.

Check the firing order with the firing order diagram that I have uploaded, and if that does not solve the problem then remove the spark plugs and be certain that there is an even spark plug gap between all of the spark plugs, (see the emission label under the hood for the correct spark plug gap) and be certain that there is not any split-fire or multi-fire spark plugs installed in the engine, because those plugs will not work with an OBD-II system, and a random mis-fire is the least that they will cause if installed in an OBD-II controlled vehicle.

Car runs bad after replacing spark plugs and wires

Make sure the part store gave you the correct plugs and wires. Consult a third source for a firing order.

Unsure if spark plug wires are connected to the coils correctly

i presume what you replaced was the coil pack. if it's a six cyclinder which my windstar was... the numbering on the pack is one to three on one side. and 4-6-5 on the other. either ford had a better idea or they wanted to see if mechanic paid attention. you haven't mentioned the motor is running rough, but the spark sound suggests something is off. start from the coil pack and make sure each wire is where it should be. it's numbered right on the pack. the wires hopefully will have numbers stamped right on them.
follow each wire to see which cyclinder it goes to to make sure the order is correct.
