Cut they tail pipe off and put it on a newer car. It's 22 years old. Could be plugs, car rotor,wires,O2 sensors, catalytic converter,fuel filter and air filter. other sensors can cause it also. All this cost to much. And might not do the job. You would still have to look at the mechanical side of the engine. Valves and timing comes to mind.

Did your replace the whole cat?, if not is the cat still good? If not your might have to replace that. the cat cuts 80% of the emissions.

P29096 and p0133 code Not passing smog. Originally had two codes Inc o2 and inc cat and no engine light On so did not pass. Moved some 02 sensors and engine light suddenly appears now. Now I get p2096 and...

code p 0133 is the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)1 bank 1 so response --no response or--no signal=== causes wiring--heating inoperative---HO2S -- o2 sensor ( oxygen sensor
the HO2S is in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter and the O2 sensor is after the cat converter
the code p 2096also refers to the HO2S --wiring short to positive --cat converter--exhaust leak ( possible the flex section in the exhaust pipe before the cat converter

Can a coventional exhaust donut be used in place of the oem seal ring between the manifold and exhaust flange. The flange is not flat and when ring is replaced, there is still a slight leak?

A traditional exhaust donut style will not seal on this type of exhaust you either need to clean manifold and exhaust flang better or replace piece that is warped

Failed smog test

Most modern vehicles have 2 catalytic converters, there may be one located at the exhaust manifold, or be what's called a resonator. The resonator will look almost like a cherry bomb muffler, this is a crucial part of exhaust emissions.

Cat converter dosent work and wont pass smog

You may have to replace the converter. When the converter go bad it generally would transmit black smoke. This would prevent you from passing vehicle smog inspections.

HARD STARTING

Hello and thank your for choosing fixya.com. As far as your car being hard to start in the morning, you may have a dying batter.Look on the battery for a date (which indicates the date of purchase) There should be a whole on the month, and day of purchase. If there isn't any, have the batter tested. You may need to replace it. Also, make sure that the battery terminals are clean and tight. Make sure that the wires on the starter are secure and as clean as possible as well. Check for frayed or damaged wiring. For the exhaust, it sound like you need to replace the donut in the manifold (exhaust). It's fairly simple to really so long as you can get to it. Disconnect the exhaught pipe from the manifold (should be 2-4) bolts (usually 3) and take out the old donut (if any of it's left) making sure there are nothing left of in the exhuast pipe. Put the new donut in, and bolt the pipe back to the manifold (see repair manual or parts dealer for torque specifications).
I hope this information deem useful in the repair of your Honda. I thank you for choosing fixya.com. Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments, or need further assistance.

Leak in Exhaust Manifold after catalytic converter replacement.

it depends if they took the manifold off to do the cat converter job
If they did it is their repair cost as the job was not completed properly
if that was not necessary then they may have broken the flex bit just from the manifold
