I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD 6 cly. It has been overheating and I have put a number of parts on it and still haven't figured it out. It is not leaking and fluids either. I have put on a thermostat and a new fan. Also a relay and radiator and ac condenser. What else could it be?

If you have replaced everything you say you have there really shouldn't be a reason that it is still overheating. Check the temperature sensor that operates your gauge or light and make sure that it is actually overheating and not just a bad sensor telling you that it is

Can i use a transmition from 1998 grand cherokee laredo 4wd to a jeep laredo 1998 4.0 4wd. will work same trnsmition?

Hi Jose, I've never tried but if you go visit a breakers yard and compare the physical dimensions of both boxes and they match up, there is no reason why they should not. Most manufactures use the same units in a variety of models and if you've found a similar vehicle with identical uses the parts are most likely interchangeable. Regards John

If the fan is not cycling when the engine gets hot, you'll have to test the fan motor and the temperature sensor. If the fan is running and it's still hot, the thermostat may be the cause.

Overheating issues for a 2001 grand jeep cherokke

If it was overheating at freeway speed then it is a clogged radiator. Another cause of overheating is a timing that is retarded. These can be caused by worn timing components etc, although a possiblity it is highly unlikely on your car.
