As Long as You ABSOLUTLY POSITIVE the Timing is Dead on , And Plyg WIRES are Not Crossed Then Hate to tell you It Must Have Taped a valve. Start it up and Let it Idle Take The Plug wires OFF 1 By 1 And Listen for NO DIFFERANCE in the IDLE the ones that Make NO Differance are the Bad Cylinders for LUCKS SAKE Check the Gap on the Spark Plug of Effected Cylinders and as I said Make sure the Spark Plug Wires are not Crossed. Hope it turns Out Good For Ya I Have Been there done that on My Personal Car I Feel your Worrie. Please Show some Care and Rate Me For This Solution Although its Not Potentualy the Best Outcome, Again I Hope for YOU Its A OOps as Aposed to a OUCH for ya, Easy, RejakWilson

The Lanos engine are an interference engine. If you have bent valves, remove a plug wire one at a time and see if there is no change in the idle. My guess, one of them isn't going to change anything. That would be the cylinder that has the bent valves in. I had a Lanos in my shop with a broken timing belt and the head had several bent valves. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you also have bent valves.
SOURCE: I AM REPLACING THE TIMING BELT ON MY 1999 DAEWOO

cams marks face each other 3 & 9 o clock
crank at about 6 o clock mark in cover
all marks are visible on gears and covers

True, the engines are low tolerance engines which means that there is no room for the pistons and valves in the cylinder walls at the same time. When the pistons are TDC and the valves are open, they will hit causing damage to the valves and pistons.
Be more cost efficient to replace the whole engine, rather then just the valve train redone. Chances are the the pistons will have some type of damage and it will not just be one piston that will need to be replaced.
Thank you for using Fixya and sorry for the bad news
