SOURCE: Replaced timing belt not running right

As Long as You ABSOLUTLY POSITIVE the Timing is Dead on , And Plyg WIRES are Not Crossed Then Hate to tell you It Must Have Taped a valve. Start it up and Let it Idle Take The Plug wires OFF 1 By 1 And Listen for NO DIFFERANCE in the IDLE the ones that Make NO Differance are the Bad Cylinders for LUCKS SAKE Check the Gap on the Spark Plug of Effected Cylinders and as I said Make sure the Spark Plug Wires are not Crossed. Hope it turns Out Good For Ya I Have Been there done that on My Personal Car I Feel your Worrie. Please Show some Care and Rate Me For This Solution Although its Not Potentualy the Best Outcome, Again I Hope for YOU Its A OOps as Aposed to a OUCH for ya, Easy, RejakWilson

SOURCE: Replaced timing belt not running right

The Lanos engine are an interference engine. If you have bent valves, remove a plug wire one at a time and see if there is no change in the idle. My guess, one of them isn't going to change anything. That would be the cylinder that has the bent valves in. I had a Lanos in my shop with a broken timing belt and the head had several bent valves. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you also have bent valves.

SOURCE: timing belt broke i just readed that when the

True, the engines are low tolerance engines which means that there is no room for the pistons and valves in the cylinder walls at the same time. When the pistons are TDC and the valves are open, they will hit causing damage to the valves and pistons.
Be more cost efficient to replace the whole engine, rather then just the valve train redone. Chances are the the pistons will have some type of damage and it will not just be one piston that will need to be replaced.
Thank you for using Fixya and sorry for the bad news

First you need to determine if it is spark or fuel.
Try some spray starting fluid or use in inductive timing light to see if there is spark at the plugs.
Then if the problem is fuel, you would need to put a pressure gauge on the line, check the O2, air mass, and temp sensors with an ohmmeter. (bad usually are 0 or infinite)
Could also be relay or control module.
If spark, it could be fuse, ignition switch, or crank position sensor/distributor pickup.

Next time have components tested before replacing them.

How do I replace the sparkplugs

Buy the appropriate spark plugs from your auto supply store. They will need to know your engine size (# of Cylinders Etc.) as well as the info you have supplied here (yr make model) Gap the new plugs to manufacturer specs. Follow the plugs wires from the distributor to the plugs. Remove plug wire and unscrew one plug at a time so you do not mix up the firing order and replace with the new plug. Put wire back on. You may want to replace the distributor cap and rotor at this time as well. Be sure, again not to mix up the order of the wires. Mark them in some way so you know how to put them back on the new cap in the same order they came off of the old cap. Medical tape and a numbering system works well. Also use a felt pen to mark the old and new caps to correspond to the numbers on the tape. Does this help? Let me know. Thanks.

Replacing ignition distributor

Remove the cap and mark the orientation of the rotor with a mark on the intake manifold. This way when you put in the new distributor, you can line up the rotor with the mark for proper timing. You still need to fine tune the timing with a timing light.

I just replace my prado ignition distributor and it hardly start

Sometimes you cannot just take out the distributor and replacing them. It must be put back in the excat position that it was before.
Start the engine, loosen the distributor bolts, and while its running, turn the distributor sideways. Note the position that the engine runs quietly, then tighten the distributor bolt. If you have a timing-gun, connect it to the battery, and aim it to the crank-pulley. The degree that the #1 pistion fires is marked in degree on the crank-pulley (0, 5-degree). Repeat this as necessary. Or better get the car to a 'friendly' auto repair shop.

My 93, 318I won't start

if you think your cambelt has broken ,when your trying to crank it over ,your engine should turn over faster but will not start.,to check if your fuel pump is not working, turn the key whithout turning over the engine and listen if your fuelpump buzzess than you know your relay is not faulty,.i gather your bmw is a E39 model fitted wid a distributor cap. check your ignition coil plug pins for rust,or your modulator cables/plug connection.
