Will a 4r70w 5.4 fit a 4.6

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ford_bellhousing_patterns
Bellhousing pattern the same. need to verify torque converter splines/sizes of all 3. But Id say yes if you use the torque converter from the 5.4L.

Transmissions on 2003 buick lasabre/3800 engine seems to interchange with chevy impala/3800 but the torque converter has a different diameter.buick has a 258mm dia. torque converter.chevy has 245mm.

The converter will most likely fit on the transmission input shaft; they are fairly consistent among a brand. The issue is the diameter and depth of the converter may cause clearance issues in the transmission bell housing depending upon whether you are trying to reuse the larger or smaller of the two.

Bad torque convertor want to replace with one a little bit more heavy duty?

Marty, I'm not too sure if there's such a thing as a heavy duty torque converter. I can't say that I've ever heard of one. The type of torque converter is, as far as I'm aware, specific to the make-model and transmission of your vehicle.

A torque converter usually has a long life though sometimes they can develop faults such as leaks. Repair/rebuild is a specialised requirement and outside the scope of the home mechanic. It's only a specialised company that can do anything with them.

A second-hand torque converter is an option - but remember they are second hand and come with no guarantee. It may work fine for a few years - or a couple of weeks. There's no way of knowing which.

The link below is for torque converters on Ebay. Maybe contact one of the suppliers and ask their advice?
torque converter

You can also do a Google search for 'reconditioned torque converter'. This is a slightly cheaper option (if you can find a reconditioned unit) and will come with some form of guarantee.

If you're doing the work yourself - well done! It's a big, messy job. I've done a few over the past 40 years.

On a personal note - I'm in the UK - many, many years ago I had a problem with the torque converter on a 1969 Rover 3500 V8. I didn't have much money at that time, and fitted a second hand torque converter. It took 2 days to complete the job.. which wasn't easy...

20 miles after fitting the second hand torque converter I became aware of torque converter problems ... and yes, I fitted another second hand torque converter which lasted a whole 4 weeks...

I'm sure you get the idea... New or reconditioned with a guarantee is the only option. My friend in Ohio assures me that the devil punishes people by making them fit second hand torque converters to their cars ... He's from Ohio, he doesn't tell lies..

Clicking noise when turning

if it is worse at low speeds it is possibly a CV shaft going bad. If you try to fix it yourself be sure to not yank it out of the torque converter, you will want to carefully pry it out and not extend it so you can make sure you get the proper length replacement. GM is #$%^%** for using multiple CV shafts per year that are not interchangable. I went through 10 of them trying to find one for my '96 Olds 88 and I had to rebuild one from a junk yard in the end.

What is difference between a 1995 4l60e and a 1997 4l60e trans? can a 97 work in a 95?

I just answered the same question for another person. Physically the transmissions will interchange; just be sure to check ALL electrical plug's BEFORE installation AND change your linkage arm. The flywheel SHOULD be the same diameter also, just be sure to check the torque converter bolt pattern b4 installation. Lastly,be sure that the dip sticks are the same........ALL the part's on both transmission's are interchangeable, change as necessary.

Hi. I have a 1998 s-10 Blazer that i am changing the motor and i was curious on what year 4.3 vortex will be compatible in a 98'. I was told the 4.3 vortex came out in 96'. What years will fit please help....

"What years will fit please help"
From 1996 up to 2000 I can safely say.
In 2001 the crank depth, and pilot bore was changed.
(Crank depth: How far the pilot bearing, or bushing, at the end of the crankshaft, is from the nose of the crankshaft)
In 2001 the bearing/bushing sat further back, from the nose tip of the crankshaft
This resulted in a deeper bellhousing. (And a different torque converter)

My advice would be to go to a decent salvage yard for vehicles, and ask them to look it up in their Interchange Manuals, so that you can be absolutely sure.
