The cheapest place to start would be vapor canister vent valve located down by fuel tank. It can get plugged which cause the problem you are describing.

I have one1994 GMC 1500 5.7 motor it will start and cut right off.I changed fuel filter and fuel pump is pumping gas.

Gas will not pump into tank

Sounds like the tank vent in clogged or stuck shut .

was the car running when you was pumping gas. most cars now have a shut off if it is running when gas is pumped

Gas pump keeps tripping off often

you have a bad charcoal canister. Go underneath the left rear of the car, pull the big hose off the charcoal canister, and if charcoal come out of the hose, replace the canister. This is a common problem w/Hyundai and Kia.

How do I open the gas tank door on the Chevy hhr

There is no inside release on the HHR. Simply press in on the rear of the gas fill door and it will "pop" open. Make sure you press it in again when you close it...

How about Fuel filter? How many miles on vehicle? In some cases a fuel filter can cause this as well as a "lazy" o2 sensor. If to lazy, ecm will set check engine lite.

Was this car in an accident and if so perhaps the filler tube was bent in the process.inspect or have a reputable shop inspect for any damage to tube or surrounding areas. Perhaps there might be a forien object that got lodged in the filler tube.
