How do i open a trunk to a 1996 Crown vic? I can't use a key and i can't open from inside because my battery is dead?

dead battery, not enough power to even activate the circuit. you'll need to replace the battery

Look for a release pull cord on your back dash area.

Remote needs to be taken apart either by a small screwdriver, or by finding the small tabs on the side and separating the two halves of the remote. Button cell batteries.

the key doesn't work in the door locks?

If that's the case than your only alternative is to call you local towing company or locksmith and have then perform a lockout service.

That is located on the keyless entry module on a paper tag. The module is in the trunk, either behind the side panel or under the rear package tray drop down.

HOW BROKE IN A 1998 CROWN VIC TRUNK

I did this once myself to my 1989 crown vic. There should be 2 bolts on the back seat (follow the seat belt down, you'll feel them.) Take off the nuts from each side and the backrest of the entire seat pulls up and out. you should be able to see clearly into the trunk, grab a flashlight and hopefully hook your keys pulling them out.

Another possibility is the trunk open button in the glove box should you be so equipped, but it may require power to open, the crown vic would not release unless the car was on, but it could be worth a try.

There should be a pull cable in the trunk that you can pull to open the gas door, it may be behind the carpet on the wall behind the gas door inside the trunk.

Check the pump. it is located under the wiper fluid container. Thats where I would start. are you interested in selling it? I'm looking for a black 96 with low miles...

have the starter checked and recheck the battery terminals are tight and free of "crud"
