Both crank and cam sensors have a 8 volt reference I have found the wiring melted together where it cross over transmission shorting out the signal. also test your reference voltage at the computer with circuit unplugged at sensor watch meter and wiggle wiring going back to computer this will help find faulty area.
You'll need to have someone diagnose the problem first. Code 344 is for an intermittent problem with the cam sensor on bank one. The sensor and wiring would need to be checked.
P0344 you have a failed camshaft sensor that is intermittent. There is a TSB that only the dealer can fix they will have to reflash the PCM number 18-15-09, this is the identification for the problem you are up against they will also put a authorization label on it
code po 340 no camshaft position sensor signal at powertrain control module and code po344 rationality error detected for intermittent loss of camshaft position sensor circuit. hope this will help you!!!!
Before replacing the cam shaft sensor, verify good terminal tension and connection at the sensor. This carline has a history of faulty connections here and this could fixya before spending the cash on car parts....good luck
I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 dual overhead cam. When driving down the road, bell goes off, check engine light comes on, and it's like I'm driving on limp mode, when going over 2000 rpm's, there's a severe stutter. After getting code for light it points to cam shaft sensor, which i changed. I also changed crank shaft sensor. After all of this was done, drove great for about 30 miles and the same thing happened all over again. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
