SOURCE: Radiator fan doesn't always turn on when engine gets hot

check fuses #25 and #6 (both 30 amp)
the fan thermostat is on the left side of the rad.
turn the ignition on, and after pulling back the boot, short across the two terminal with a screwdriver.

if the fan runs, fan and wiring are both good.

if it only runs when thermoswitch is shorted like this, switch needs to be replaced (get the low temp switch to prevent overheating - your temp gauge will not go over the middle position even on the hottest days; also get a low temp thermostat, and ALWAYS get a Saab stat, not an after market!)

if the fan doesn't run when switch is shorted, check for valtage between green wire and ground at the switch.

Voltage indicates faulty fan, if no voltage then check the fan relay J in the main fuse box.

SOURCE: Cooling fan not activating

On most vehicles, there is a thermostatic switch located on the bottom tank of the radiator that controls the electric fan. When AC is turned on, this switch is bypassed so its failure is 'cured.' These switches aren't terribly expensive nor difficult to replace but ensure you don't lose coolant on the ground while replacing the switch since the stuff is tasty and toxic to animals.
If you like to be able to research and or repair minor problems like this, you might consider buying the Haynes manual for your car. This will also let you approximately access what a repair might cost for labor if you can see the degree of difficulty yourself.

These are available at auto parts stores often cheaper than the online price. We have on for (and IN) each vehicle we own since they can be lifesavers now and then.

SHOW ME WHERE THE FAN BELT IS AT ALMERA 2004

Nissan Almera accessory drive belt is located on the front of the engine. The cooling fan is most likely not driven by the belt as most all cars now use electric motors for the cooling fan. The belt will be driving the alternator, so find that and you have the belt in sight.

My Nissan Almera keeps cutting out completely whilst driving?

run the fault codes and look for cam/crank position sensors.
faulty or loose connections may cause this fault. If you have more than 1 key in the ignition then it has been known that the mass of swinging keys will switch off the ignition
(current recall on all GMC ignition switches for just this reason)

When the engine gets hot the car cuts off and the engine lights stays on have to wait for car to cool down before it starts again

check the radiator for coolant level as it is possible that the temperature sensor unit is shutting down for an overheat situation.

Were is the rad fan switch on almera

Are you talking about engine radiator cooling fan?
If yes there is no switch per say, the fan is connected to a relay and gets activated by the temperature sensor of the coolant, if it is not coming on check for a blown fuse or a bad relay.
If you want to test the fan, connect the fan straight to the car 12V battery and see if it is working.
Make sure that your hands are not close at any time to the fan blades, and don't wear any kind of loose clothing and jewelery.

Injector pump gave trouble on nissan almera so i got working injector pump fitted to Nissan almera 2.2tdi it was running perfect when i got the car back but after about 15 miles the engine light comes on...

Not the EGR. Pump is definitely out of time and too much fuel makes it smoke like that and you lose power because the engine is flooding with fuel and it just cant burn it quick enough. Makes sense, huh.

Engine fan is not cooling

I am having the same problem on my 98 with 160k. I have determined that the right fan is the ac fan. With the engine hot and the ac on, I can tap a blade with a small stick to make the fan start spinning on its own. I thought this was a relay, but this should not be a relay if the thing will spin-up like this. Also, the main cooling fan is not, in my experience, always running when it should. I now suspect the same problem. Therefore, I am thinking I will need to replace both fan motors. I hope this helps. This has been driving me crazy for about 9 months.
