1997 grand marquis shift problem. feels like a broken shift cable. Can get it to rev, n and D but sloppy ? Any advise.

If you look where the "bar"/linkage for your shifter attaches at the tramsmission, where it is attached to it should have a rubber grommet in order to make it nice and secure but also so it is able to move. I would check that grommet to see if it is still there or damaged. That's where I would start. I hope this helps and good luck.

Need to know transsmission oil capacity in a honda civic 1986 1.6 engine

if you are changing the transmission fluid to new fluid just go to this link web site they will show you how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj5xTXRK9OI
usually when you get out most of the tramsmission fluid that if you have the container just pour it into oil quarts containers and you will get the results you are looking for as long on the stick of the tramsmission it shows max when you have the car running for a couple of minutes to make sure that the tramsmission fluid is at its max level.

My 1988 Ford F-150 is a manuel and it is stuck in some gear?

The clutch or linkage needs repair. It happened on my Escort. It turned out to be linkage and was obviously much cheaper than a clutch. It sounds like linkage because even if the clutch was bad,it would kind of hesitate, rev strangely,be herky jerky, maybe even hard shift.Linkage problem is more like whatever gear you have is all you will get obviously because it is incapable to shift.Good luck! I a 99 subaru forester that will not egage into drive too

hey, it sounds like the oil level in the gearbox, it not only lubricates but it also fills servos that change the gears and if there is low oil it will take longer to gain pressure.

Electrical

if you hear the solenoid engaging on the drivers door , then it could be catching and not locking or unlocking or even getting weak , if you don't hear anything at all the solenoid may be defective or there is no power getting to it then , but the locks should be on the same fuse , so its not likely a fuse thats blown , are you able to check for power to the solenoid or tell me if you hear the solenoid egaging?
