SOURCE: 2005 g6 stalling
I would suggest checking your wiring (core wire on the distributor, plug wires and the negative battery ground) I would imagine that the forward motion of the vehicle is possibly making your wires lose connectivity and making the car stall. Just a thought though.

My husband and I just purchased a 2001 Grand Am for our daughter. We brought it home and the heater was not working. My husband fixed it and the car would not start at all. We did a lot of research online because he is a must do it yourselfer and turns out that under your dash on the passengers side is a box for the security this system is connected to every function of your car. He rigged the connection that went to this box and wala! Anyway all research that we did said that if corrosion builds up or you loose that connection then your car will die even if you are driving 70 mph on the interstate. So in a nutshell does your security light come on when you turn the key. It could be as simple as resetting the system which all you do is turn the key to the on position the security light should flash leave it on for 10 nto 15 min. the light will go off, then turn the key off and then try to start the car that resets your system. Hope it works it was sure a headache for us.

this is the speed shift solenoid and a possible faulty transmission filter as well. the best thing for this issue is to pull the tranny and check for filter clogs and change the shift solenoid.

When you put the trans in park, then back into drive, Is the turning directly corresponding with the noise? Putting it in park should have nothing to dowith the turn. What happens if you don't put it in park. Is the trans still in drive if you followed through with the turn? Have your motor mounts checked. a bad motor mount will allow unintentional partial gear shifting and placing in park reset everything. You may be hearing the parking Pawl in the trans. good luck.
