Replace left front fender - Hyundai Motor 2003 Elantra

A salvage yard would be a likely source of interchangeability information.

Fenders are bolt on. Remove the plastic inner wheel well. Rais the hood. Remove bolts along too, in door jamb and inner wheel well. Most vehicles also require removing the front bumper cover, headlight assembly and sometimes the grill. You should be able to see the bolt hole locations on the replacement fender. Once you install it do not tighten up the bolts. You'll need to align the fender til the hood to get a narrow consistent seam then tighten the bolts.

Get the replacement fender so you can tell where there at..they make some great epoxy for that now.. They should have it where they sell fenders

If this question is not self explanitory you should take it to a professional. Body work is a specialize field and needs the tools and experience.

Best to start by removing the wheel, then the inner plastic fender...held on with plastic push up tabs...remove all under hood fender bolts...probably 13mm...compare your replacement fender to confirm all necessary bolts to be removed, Is your new fender already painted?

Remove marker lamp and headlamp assemblies.

Remove bolts behind lamp assemblies holding fender to frame of car.
Remove bolts along seam hidden under hood.
remove left front wheel and splash guard.
remove more bolts in wheel well
open left door, remove bolts in sill by door hinges.
Take lots of wires and stuff loose from fender.
Tada, fender is removed.

open the hood and remove the bolts going up the fender then remove the ones behind the door also the ones inside the wheel well and that should make it come right off

There are quite a few bolts on this fender. One on the bottom of the rocker, one between the the door and fender on the "A" pillar, one on the cal, one on the firewall then several on the inner fender and several on the radiator core support. after these are removes you need to take ou the head light assembly and you should have a fender brace under the front of the car. There is a relay box in the left front fender area.A real pain to get to.I worked on Infinitis back in the day and remember replacing several of those on that model .They can be reached under the hood without removal of the fender but just barely.It is fairly sizeable black relay box in just about the upper center of the left (driver side ) front fender and it is a dig to retrieve out.

Hiya... here's the details of fender removal/installation:
the left-side (same for right-side) fender has 6 bolts attached to the "sidebody" frame.
The bolt location:
3 are on the top fender-easy to find when hood is open,
1 is hidden at the rear of top inner fender-just open the left-front door wide to find it (early equinoxes had foam-like noise absorber material in it, just remove it from underneath fender after the wheelwell liner is removed),
1 bolt is hidden at bottom of front fender area at headlight/bumper area-you need to remove plastic wheelwell liner to gain access,
1 bolt is hidden at bottom of rear fender area where the black plastic rocker panel meets below the fender...
THIS area is probably the most difficult task to do since it requires you to remove a small bolt found on the front of rocker panel behind the front-left wheel then use a flat screwdriver or clip removal tool to pry open the black plastic **clip's 'dime-sized' head prior to pull out the clip's body (it has 8 clips underneath the chassis) then use your hands to grasp the rocker panel underneath, pull it down-toward you...this should do it....USE CARE during rocker panel and clip removal/installation so you don't break the clips!
It also has yellow plastic clips inside the rocker panel (used as a guide during installation into rocker sill holes-use caution not to break it)
**note: early equinoxes had rocker panel clips that you can actually pull it out from the hole, while later equinoxes has 'built-in' clips inside rocker panels that you don't see the clip heads below it due to engineering part design change**
