My ebrake on my 98 ford taurus is frozen

you will need to remove the wheels and drums check ebrake cables and brake shoes, make sure the arms are connected and not frozen and also brakes are adjusted correctly,most times its a bad cable or frozen hardware to the ebrake. hope this helps.

Check ground wire from engine to frame and battery to body

This could be a sign of worn rear brakes, if the brakes are worn this will cause the e-brake which is cable operated to not be able to apply the park brakes.

there would be more time and work involved with replacing wiring and ecu. i would never attemp.

jack up the front of the car, put it in drive and see if the wheels spin if so make sure the ebrake is actually relased and not stuck on please rate -jeff
