Does it just die or does it drop rpms and like shudder first? Also what is the year, make, and model of said vehicle?
Sounds like it could be the wires in the push button starter making contact and turning off the car. I would start there looking for exposed copper wire, if you find some you can either put some electrical tape around it(just as a temporary fix) or disconnect the battery and trim the wires (one by one so you know where they connect correctly). You could also go to auto zone, advance auto, Napa, etc and get a replacement ignition and/or go to a mechanic, just be aware of you take it to a mechanic, electrical issues can be pretty expensive. Keep me posted on what you find out so we can make sure this gets fixed for you. Also if you do go to advance auto or auto zone have them check your battery and connections, it only takes a few minutes and it's free, this may also detect if it's just a battery issue, doesn't sound like it but it's always good to be sure.
