The reduced engine power light is most likely setting the stabilitrack light to come on. The reduced engine power light is normally set when the computer senses an issue with the throttle actuator assembly. This actuator assembly needs a corolation signal from the gas pedal sensor to operate properly. In my opinion and experience in the automotive repair industry, the throttle actuator assembly is more prone to failure than the gas pedal sensor.

the engine light is a generic fault indicator in your car to point out something is not quite right with the engine, having a loss of power as well is also known in some areas as Limp Mode or Safety Mode. it means the car is restricting the power it gives to ensure no damage it done to the engine.
the only certain way to find out what is wrong is to take it to a garage that has diagnostics equipment that can read the fault codes from the vechicles ECU (the fault codes will be the reason the light on the dash has come on as its reporting a fault somewhere)..
your mechanic should be able to tell you what is wrong with the engine from that and give you a more accurate cost at fixing it.

You will need to get your car scanned,in scanning you will retrieve the error code.As per the error code it will indicate which part is causing the problem. At autozone service center its absolutely free to get your car scanned,.------------ The check engine light comes ON.This light comes on when there is code stored in your cars computer also called EC,.This check engine light is indicating to get the car scanned.
---------
The stabilitrak light is warning you that you have a problem with your anti lock brake system. But its always not possible that brake system needs inspected. Most of the time getting the codes retrieved will point towards the faulty part, and getting that part replaced solves this problem.-----------
This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
SOURCE: can i turn off the stabilitrak of my equinox by dosconecting the battery?
Hello. sometimes you can reset the system by disconnecting the battery. but sounds like you have a electronic throttle body concern. this will cause the reduced power message and the stability light to come on. you really need to have the system scanned for trouble codes to see what is going on
You have a right to take it to any dealership, so try another one.
