I have a 2010 nissan rogue cd changer fm fades in and out

FM need a good antenna, buT FM in the country side will be weak
or even dead, FM does not travel far at all ,even only 20 miles
AM we have super power stations that cover most the country.
I bet the RADIO is just fine.
it can be bench tested with a 1 strand of say 4 feet of wire for an antenna.
you posted about only a RADIO not CD and not AM
FM is short ranged, 88 to 108MHz. is that
no town told , but you can call your closest station and ask them there coverage, spec.? 50miles or 10 or? what ever.
or you can go to a 2nd car, test FM see if there is one strong station.
if not there there is none.
on home RADIO we use a roof mounted 30Ft high antenna, FM
and goes way father,.
in car that can not be done, most antenna amps in cars only increase noise.
is this your first car, or first ever FM radio.?
yes antenna's can fail even the ground, (it is 2 wire coax to fail)
the mount can corrode. the cable can be bad.
some have antenna in the wind shield glass, and some one puts in new glass with no antenna there well that fails hard.
FM is mostly a CITY BIG DEAL, no living in the sticks.
also there are tiny FM micro station, and those are weak.
only line get a FM map for you town, just like Cell phones but for FM.
radio. see what is there and its POWER/coverage.

Can Asians own a radio channel in the United States?

Do a quick Internet search, and you'll find there's lots and lots of Asian owned radio (and TV) stations broadcasting content from places as diverse as India, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, and Korea (and I'm sure many other parts of Asia too).
Yes, it's doable, just as it is for anybody else with enough money!

On AM radio, there is often a sound, like a hammer hitting a 55 gal. drum interrupting the program. Does not do it on portable radio carried in the car.

all stations AM?

is the engine running?

for get the portable, some have vastly better a/m radios than any car has. in fact many cars radios a/m OR of horrid quality.

i can tell you why but its boring. (AGC, read up on that)

did you try the radio in car, parked say across town.?

did you try all stations

are you like 1 block away from an AM radio station, overloading yours.

AM radios are basically noise making radios., that is why FM was invented to stop that noise, (i cant hear it so.........?????)

are you listening to far away stations, this is normal

in fact you might hear 2 stations on same channel (freq)

and they will beat against each other.

on case of is in S.Calif where your station is clobbered by high power mexican stations 50,000 watts. strong.

and worse a night, does it get better in the day?

here is my advice, many AM stations have a rebroadcast on FM.

go there and listen. (use SAT radio?)

AM radio is subject to vast sources of noise.

ignition noise., high voltage power transmission line noise.

machinery noises, (electric)

or even illegal transmitters in your hood.

many new cars the AM radio is junk, they use this very cheap

chip inside that does this very poorly, but allows them to say

it has AM. ( for $1 cost)

the FM side is 10x better, or more. move up to FM like we all did back in 1967. (i used to build and sell converters back then)

answering for , all other modes work perfect, but AM radio..

2013 Santa Fe Sport radio on am 670 cuts out and back in with varied times off. If I toggle to the next station and back it is there right away. The station does not have a problem on my other car. This is...

cuts out ?
well, all FM radios cut out for.:
1: weak station.
2: stereo can not be held in properly( can be bypassed on most RAD , pick mono)
3: AGC drop out, same as #1

on better radios (RTM) you can defeat these default features.
set the FM to mono channel mode, and now you hear all stations.
also kill the AGC mode. this allows you to hear
the station. and static or both. like a Marconi radio of days of old.
modern radios are programmed to blank weak stations.
tis a fact. im a tech and tuned these features, for 50 years.

ok the fix,
1: move closer to station
2: get a better antenna (vast choices)
3: go to station and turn the gain knob up and get arrested by FCC.
