While trying to fix heater controls and blower motor, which I found the problem to a broken hot wire. A friend pulled out a relay out from under the dash. at first I didn't see where it came from. IT was a five or six pin prong. one of the prongs seemed to burnt. replaced the relay but my headlights, speedometer, dash lights and taillights stopped working. Sorry, its a 1992 model/ext cab
Have you checked applicable fuses for everything except head lamps? The headlamps themselves don't use a fuse. Check the battery junction block under the hood, one of your positive battery cables should go to junction block. If several fusible links check them. My info shows red wire carries battery voltage to head lamp switch for headlamps. The headlamp switch has two voltage circuits, mainly, one for the head lamps, for the other lamps that the switch controls, those smaller lamps are fuse protected.

SOURCE: Blower motor has only low speed
You may need to get the correct resistor, as they are designed to only allow so much amperage to go through them. If it is getting very hot it is runnig to many amps through it. It will eventually blow and you will need to replace it anyway.

Check the ground, the resistors are accully resisnting the Negitive Current.

Replaced the ignition switch, the circuit breaker in the ignition switch wears out, the ignition switch powers the fuse box. You can get a new ignition switch from napa for $128.00 do not get it from the dealer, they sell it as a kit with door locks as well so that the key matches, and then you are lookin at $249.00. Unhook the steering column and drop it so you can drill out the ignition switch assembly, that is a short cut so you do not have to pull the entire steering wheel off. Consolo Automotive
