There is a vent valve located near the fuel tank. The vent valve is part of the EVAP emission system. If the valve is obstructed or failed, air will not escape while refueling.
Has the service engine light come on at all?

I am having the same problem with this 02 Santa Fe, the check engine light is not on, I removed the evap cannister and blew out the hoses one that seems to just be a vent hose to the inside of body, the other from the cannister to the tank some pieces of charcaol came out of this hose, should the cannister and the vent solenoid be replaced?

Yes, the canister membrane that keeps the carbon contained has apparently rupshered. Im sure the vent valve is contaminated with carbon also. You can probably try cleaning the hoses and vent solenoid, but the canister will have to be replaced.

I had my mom bring me gas because I wouldn't have made it to the gas station, When I stopped at the gas station to fill up my tank will not let me insert the gas nozzle in to my tank it's like blocked

Sounds like you were trying to add the wrong fuel. You were trying to put diesel fuel (large nozzle) into your gasoline car (small hole).

Second, the nozzle on the end of a diesel fuel pump is slightly larger than a standard fuel nozzle. That means it won't fit in your car's gas hole, at least not that way you're used to a pump nozzle fitting.

Gasoline pump keeps clicking off every few seconds

a suggested have the filler and recovery and evap system of the tank filler tube checked out ..could be perished seals or piping
other thoughts
some gas stations fuel pump sniffers can be more sensitive to shut offs than others....the pump sensor is supposed to be tested adjustable or sensor replaced regular intervals
these days the operator wait till there enough complaints before doing anything

the new model cars seem to have more filler neck filling issues
than in the past
could be the smaller diameter of the pump nozzle

could be the temperature of the day fuming the gas in the cars filler tube

NEVER LET A CAR WITH ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP RUN OUT OF GAS BECAUSE FUEL PUMP WILL OVER HEAT AND BECOME DAMAGED.GASOLINE KEEP FUEL PUMP COOL AND LUBRICATES IT.IF GAS TANK RUNS DRY FUEL PUMP WILL OVER HEAT AND SELF DESTRUCT.

Having problem with trying to gas up the elantra. gas pump handle keeps clicking off. have to squeeze handle real lightly to fill up tank takes a long time to fill up. help

I know you probably won't like my answer, but seeing as I am a service tech for gas stations, the nozzle has a safety feature which shuts/kicks off when gas splashes back into the nozzle, thus keeping the gas from running over when the car is unattended and nozzle is locked. You can try pulling the nozzle back til it is barely in the tank or try a different gas station as some nozzles are different. As it is the shape of the fill tube on your vehicle. Hope this helped Tim

Where is the fuel filter on a 2004 dodge stratus, my engine light came on after filling with gas, then went off, today it is on again after I gave it gas to take off and the car choked, so I gave it gas...

did you stop fueling as soon as gas pump clicked off or did you keep trying to add extra fuel . some vehicles if gas tank overfills fuel fills into evaporative system and causes check engine light to come on.

Can't get gas into my 2002 Hyundai Accent.

The reason the gas station pump shuts off is when the fuel reaches the tip of the gas nozzle, so when you are filling your car and the gas nozzle (gas stations pipe) keeps shutting off it means that the pipe that runs to the gas tank is not open completely, what happens is when you pump the gas in the car the supply pipe from the gas tank opening to the tank fills up quickly and this causes the gas station pipe nozzle to shut off, have some body take down the gas tank and have a look at the gas tank opening and also gas supply pipe that runs from the gas filler opening ( on the car body) to the gas tank. Have a look at it and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!
