Check the fan relay by swapping a known good relay nearby such as the AC relay as the contacts can stick causing continuous operation of a circuit.

We are going to give this a real effort.
First, generic.
Today's cars have a couple of cooling fans, one for the radiator and one for the air conditioner.
These are powered by electricity that is supplied through a switch about the size of your thumb that is screwed in to the engine block , and senses the engine temperature for when to "come on".
I would surmise your switch/sensor is "stuck" in the "on" position, and is not turning off when the engine cools off.
Now,
German cars (wherever they are made) often use what some would call backward wiring, which means it is possible the wire to the fan is not "hot", but the sensor may have a ground wire to it instead of a hot one.
In any regard, this is likely the problem for you.
God bless your efforts.

My 2005 VW Beetle will run when I drive it for days but if I let it sit for a day it will not start. When I try to start it a clicking noise is made, also the battery has been tested and is good so I have...

you have a parasitic drain on the battery-is there a power amp or bass thumper installed or an aftermarket keyless entry installed-do you have to jump it to start-cheers Denny

Vw beetle battery is good but something is draining it. sos help

The standard procedure is to disconnect the negative cable and use a test light or meter to measure voltage.
A test light between the battery post and ground will light up until the drain is knocked out.
You disconnect each fuse and cable until you find the drain.

1998 vw beetle wont start when turn key but bump start works but doesnt want to stay running\

This sounds like the anti theft system is active, you jump start it but it dies out after a few seconds , if this is correct then try another key. the other thing can be a weak battery make sure the battery is fully charged and good,

VW Caddy with cooler fan n/s which spontaneously comes on and off throughout day and night and is running battery down. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

My first guess would be a faulty fan relay, but you would need to make sure it is not getting a ground signal from somewhere. The computer is supposed to ground the relay when it wants the fan to run.

I HAVE A 2001 VW BEETLE.EVERY MORNING I HAVE TO JUMP THE BATTERY OFF.I CHANGED STARTER,ALTERNATOR IS OK.EVERY MORNING IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND BEFORE JUMP IT OFF.

Have your battery load tested. It sounds like overnight it's slowly losing it's charge. Another possibility is something electrical is "on" or draining battery overnight.

My car battery is being drained by the coolant fan remaining on after engine is off..why? I have a 1998 VW Beetle. Thanks

One of two things will cause this problem, first a bad coolant temp sensor, this is what tells computer to turn fans on when temp is reached and then the fan relay would be the other part that may keep your fans running.
