How can I reset the abs light

Tire pressure monitoring system.
- Inflate all the Tire pressures to the recommended pressure.
- Park the vehicle on a level ground.
- Under the dash on steering side there is a Tire pressure reset button.
- Switch ON the ignition (do not start engine) .
- Hold the RESET button for 3 seconds and the TPMS light will go out.
If the problem persist, scan the system.
ABS:
Pull up the ABS error codes with or without diagnostic scanner and post them here.

By operating the tire pressure warning system reset switch, tire pressure warning system ECU can be set to issue a warning at an inflation pressure that corresponds with the type of tires.
Operate the tire pressure warning system reset switch only after the inflation pressures of all 4 tires have been adjusted on the vehicle.
To initialize the system, press and hold the tire pressure warning system reset switch for 3 seconds or longer with the power switch turned IG-ON. When starting the initialization, the tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times at 0.5 Hz.
During the initialization, the tire pressure warning system valve & transmitter measures the inflation
pressure of the tires, and registers the signals that are transmitted into the ECU at a frequency of 1 per
minute. The initialization process is completed when the signals from the tires have been received.
Once the tire pressure warning system reset switch has been pressed, do not turn the Ignition switch OFF for a few minutes.

the abs has nothing to do with brake pads. the abs runs on speed sensor on each tire. if your brake light is on all bmw have a wire in the brake pads for warning the brakes are low

if you have a code reader available,reset trouble codes,if that doesn't work you probably need to have it checked out.they may have dis lodged a sensor when they changed the tires.unless you radically changed tire size it shouldn't be the tires

usually when your front wheel bearing is wrecked the abs will go off.

cant reset the abs light till you change the bearing and get a new sensor..... if the bearing is the problem.

jack the front end up and see if you can wiggle the tire and up and down and see if it seems to wiggle in the hub. if the tire wiggles in the hub (not the suspension, in the hub) your bearing is worn out and the sensor has gone off. the new sensor comes with the new bearing.

Have you checked the drain hole in the bottom of the plenum chamber? It can block and the plenum floods, partially submerging the ABS control unit.

1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (think the switch is in the glovebox, but not sure) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.



As for the ABS light, that means your antilock brake system has detected an issue such as a block sensor, or a faulty relay, etc.. when this light is on, it means that your abs may not engage when it should, or may engage when it shouldn't.

actually it could be something as simple as low on brake fluid. check this and then check to make sure you do not have worn brake pads on the tires this can also set a code when one tire stops quicker than the other

Rear wheel bearing has collapsed.... Replace it iced brakes won't put the ABS light on. Dead bearing will!!!!
