Brake lights r stay on when key is on goes out with key off

Two reasons for the brake light to be on. 1) Parking brake and 2) problem with pressure in the brake lines.
If the parking brake is off and the ignition is on but the brake light stays on, then there's a problem with the switch attached to the parking brake. It might be stuck or broken.
If the brake light goes on when you apply the brakes, there is an imbalance somewhere in the brake lines between front and back wheels. This light usually goes out when your foot is off the brake, but if it stays on, the switch in the brake lines near the master cylinder might be stuck or broken.

try with the brake light switch connected to the wires and push the buttom of the switch f lights goes off --nedds adjusment.

It isn't often we get enough information to make a diagnosis, but I think we can in this case.
You have a break light switch under the dashboard that is plastic, and has a "plunger" button.
When you press the brake pedal, that allows the plunger button to extend, which closes contacts inside the switch, and makes the brake lights come on.
If and when that switch either breaks or gets loose, the plunger will stay extended, and the brake lights will stay on, discharging the battery.

brakes lights.....? If your brake lights are staying on looking under steering wheel at the brake shaft. There's a little plastic switch that's causing that. believe it or not when it goes bad your brake lights stay on..... Replace it...And you problem will be solved

need batteries or new remote and there are a few autos if a brake light bulb goes out inside light stays on to let you now maybe dash light on others because you cannot see your own brake lights

Brake light switch probably has gone faulty. The brake lights usually will stay on all the time if that switch goes bad. The switch is located halfway up the brake pedal pole.

If the lights only stay on when key is in ignition, your central brake lights (or one of the lights) are out. The other lights stay on as a warning that the centrals(or other brake light/s) are needing replaced.

Replace rear brake pads. If that doesn't help, remove the plastic console around the parking brake lever and adjust the pull on the lever. It's probably so loose that it's trigger the light.

This is not normal, looks like someone accidentally drove several miles with the brake on.

the brake light switch has either moved out of the bracket just above the brake light pedal or the brake light switch itself is faulty.
look just above the brake pedal, there should be a switch on a bracket so that when you press the brake pedal the spring plunger piece of the switch moves out and the lights come on. make sure the plunger goes in when the brake pedal goes back to normal position.if the lights stay on when the plunger is pushed in the switch is faulty and needs changing, quite common. hope this helps
