SOURCE: 2006 Volvo XC90 side mirror control not working

Check your fuses to be sure it is not as simple as that. They fuse locations may be listed in your owner's manual. If you don't have the manual. Here is a link to find one online.

SOURCE: Can I use regular unleaded

new cars have so many engine sensors built in that they automatically adjust from one type of fuel to another.

premium fuel usually has a higher octane rating which should give slightly more power, but most people will never notice the difference while driving the car as the difference is quite small.

switching from one type of fuel to another should certainly not harm the car in any way.

hope this helps

Location of my tcm on my Volvo xc90 awd 2.9

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) on a Volvo XC90 AWD 2.9 is located under the driver's side dash, attached to the underside of the steering column. It is mounted behind the steering wheel and can be accessed by removing the lower dashboard panel.

2005 volvo xc90 will not stay running, it is giving a code of U0073 generic control module communication bus"a" off. .we have put in new crank sensor. the maf sensor is not the problem

Do you know what a serial data communication network is ? All the control modules on your vehicle share info on it . It stead of hard wiring all the componets on the vehicle they use control modules and a data network . U codes are problem codes assoicated with these networks . U0073 generic control module communication bus"a"OFF Has nothing to do with engine sensors ! Condition
The control modules transmit and receive information via a standardized serial communication method - CAN (Control Area Network).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
  • The control module does not have contact with the controller area network (CAN).
  • Incorrect value runs longer than 10 seconds.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
  • Starting the control module's CAN communication.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met. In the event of system communication problems, it is not possible to communicate with the control module. Therefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent. Substitute value
  • None.
Possible source
  • Open-circuit in terminals.
  • Damaged Parking Assistance Module (PAM).
Fault symptom[s]
  • Parking Assistance System, malfunction
  • Information lamp is on
  • Message in information display

A shorted module will cause the data bus to short and cause no start condition . You best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop . How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN

Why does the cruise control on my 2005 xc90 shut off at arbitrary times at highway speeds?

Since it works, even part time. The ECM and the cruise module are most likely good. Start at the cruise module plug. Pull it and look for corrosion first. Battery cleaner cleans this off. After cleaning it,use brake clean to get rid of the battery cleaner, let dry or blow it out with air. A lot of times this will fix the problem.

Traction control modules

you can fix the the units. you just need to open them up and replace the faulty parts in side as long as the control chip is not damaged. there are a few capacitors inside that would need to be replaced. and you need the special tool to open the units up. easy fix. its usually just one unit failed other one comes out in sympathy but they are both linked., so one one fails they both do.

Basic questions on new purchase

Use just regular fuel nothing special. As to the traction control. You need to switch it on and off. The only time it will sense something is when you are in a slide at a high rate of speed. It is always recommened by the D.O.T. To drive your vehicle with the traction control on. Safety for you and for other drivers on the road hoped this helped
