Check the relays first. Make sure battery is fully charged. Low voltage can cause problems. Try owners forum for Jag.

SOURCE: 2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.

SOURCE: Jag S-Type -intermitent fault where the remote fob does not work

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
hope this helps - good luck.

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

On my 2010 Honda CRV if you lock the door with the key fob after a few hours I unlock with key fob and the alarm goes off

one of the door lock actuators is probably not working right. the door lock actuator is responsible for sending the correct signal to the door lock/unlock module to tell the module if/when a door is locked or unlocked

Car alarm goes off when unlocking door

You will needs to think of it this way. Once you set your alarm it is looking for the corresponding signal to disable itself. That comes from the fob. If you don't use the fob and just use the key, the alarm system is doing its job and alerting you since it has not received the disable command from the fob. Either lock the door with the button when you exit the car if you want to use the key or use the alarm fob. This will also happen if you use the car manufacturers fob to unlock the car if you have locked it with the alarm manufacturers fob.

Hope that helps - I have hidden all of my original car fobs to help alleviate this problem!

This can happen If you have used the IGN. key to unlock the drivers door after you locked them from the fob. This can also be caused by a stuck button on the drovers door. Check the drivers door all buttons to see if any are stuck. If you do not have any stuck buttons. Try this, from inside the car, with out the car running, use the button on the drivers door to "lock all doors". Then use the fob to unlock them, then get out and press the lock button on the fob twice real quick. This should cause the drivers door to lock as the others. Hope this helps Fix Ya Up.

I have a VW Golf 01 and the key fob opens and shuts the doors fine. But as soon as i put the key in the ignition to start the car it wont start all lights go off and the alarm goes off. Help please!

Okay, this sounds like theres a problem with the switch inside the door, try this, go to the passenger door and unlock it with the key, note if it has a lock, most newwer cars are only putting locks on drivers door, but if it has one use the key to unlock it and then try to start the car, if theres no lock then try the truck lock, unlock it with the key and try to start the car, if that doesnt work then use the fob to unlock all doors by pushing it two times and then start the car, the problem is the switch inside the door lock, this switch is part of the latch asm, good day.

You should be able to just unlock the door with the key, and even if the alarm is still going of try to start it the key should override the alarm.
