You could have a bad (leaking ) head gasket or intake manifold gasket . You should take it to a repair shop .

Testimonial: "I appericae it any ideas on what could be wrong is better than nothing at all to figure it the problem thanx"

  • Jeff Armer Oct 25, 2015

I'm not going to try an kid you , it could very well be a major engine problem ,but also I know some make vehicles have known intake manifold gasket problems . leak coolant right into the center of cam galley going into the oil pan . I worked on a Buick century with 3.1 v-6 ,has known intake gasket problems . The owner drove it 3 miles , I drained 3 gallons of oil an coolant out of the oil pan . I'm just saying you should have it towed to a ASE certified repair shop an have it check out personally .Not having a guessing game. When you first noticed steam you should have shut it down an had it towed to a repair shop .

If water/coolant is coming out of the oil pan drain you have major problems. Possible internal cracked engine block/cracked cylinder head or bad head gasket.Do not run the engine as this will cause the bearings/motor to seize until it is fixed

Testimonial: "Thanx for your advice I believe yall r right on target with it just bought the car its been setting up for roughly a lil over a year the heat hand wasn't showung over heating but I heard something like a hose getting to much pressure then it stopped and a bunch of steam started boiling up from the driver side under the hood I cut it off and let it set then started I'm my way again bout 45mins to an hour later after leaving familys I got in it and started towards the house which is maybe a mile I had seen steam coming up again just not as much and still the heat hand never showed to be over heating but thank u for your help"

ther is a blown radiator hose or worse there is a hole in the engine. locate the leak and fix it. the sound you heard is most likly cause the engine over heated and important parts of the engine expanded when hot. if lucky it may be just a hose or a water pup that went bad. also if the bearing went bad in the water pump it would make a horible sound also.

SOURCE: engine trouble

Sounds pretty serious. If the truck is in decent condition you might want to check into a good used engine.

1989 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3L V6 Automatic: Massive coolant leak occurred after letting truck sit for about 30 minutes after running it for around 1 hour. Coolant steadily flowed from what appears to be on...

Check the bottom side of the water pump for wetness, as well as the lower radiator hose. The water pump if leaking, will run the coolant down the front of the motor, and can appear to be coming from the top of the oil pan. It is nearly impossible for the top of the oil pan to leak coolant.

Motor got frozen and no water in radiator no spark but water seaping around distribator

If you mean frozen as in, the engine is locked up due to water rusting it together, you're in for a LONG hard process. I'd order a good 12-pack of Aerokroil from Kano Labs, and ~2 gallons of it Kroil with graphite. Dump contents of the oil pan, and make sure it's all cleaned out (leave the drain plug out, pour kerosene/diesel down the oil filler, let it run out, should clean it out by the time you get 1/2 gallon). Put the plug back in, pour in the kroil. Pull out the spark plugs, and spray each spark plug liberally (With a full can) of AeroKroil. Now, on the crank snout, most likely the main pulley, there will be a bolt. Get a socket to fit that bolt, and then get a long ol' cheater bar, put the socket on the ratchet, and every day spend 20-30 minutes man handling that cheater bar. The rest of the time, put a bungee on it to keep some pressure.

Water pouring out when poured into radaitor

You have a bad casting plug in the side of the engine. A lot of people call them freeze plugs because they pop out if the coolant freezes. They also rust through. They are driven in place and the size can be looked up at the parts store. You will want to change all of them . Lee

Replacing fluids 0n 1996 300zx

radiator antifreeze: open drain **** on radiator and drain refill with water re plug and leave radiator cap off. start vehicle. watch when coolant drops or rises drastically as that is the thermostat opening. at that time re open drain **** and fill radiator with hose water at the same time. when water coming out is completely clear again turn vehicle off and drain radiator again. fill with antifreeze and water mix. 50/50

oil: jack up car, find oil plug, directly behind steering rack on oil pan. undo plug and drain oil into container. while oil is draining remove oil filter. wait for oil to drain completely then re-install drain plug and new oil filter(filled with oil) undo oil cap and pour in oil 4.5 quarts on n/a and 5 for turbo. tighten cap and your done.

brake system: dont attempt, use an experienced mechanic as the lines need to be bled in numerous places including inside the car from the abs module mounted behind the passenger seat.
easy brake system: individually bleed brakes while adding fluid until clear fluid comes out. (not efficient)

a/c: do not attempt unless you have an evac pump for ac systems.

clutch: same as easy brake except using the bleed valves at the slave cylinder and on passenger side fender well.

washer fluid: add fluid and squirt a little to make sure there is no air in the line
