How do I get the EGR readiness monitor to reset on my 2000 Chevy Malibu?

The only thing keeping me from passing my smog right now is the fact that my EGR readiness monitor is not resetting. I've driven over 200 miles, replaced the EGR, the MAF sensor, the Throttle Position Sensor, cleaned the EGR ports, done all of the reset conditions (i.e. driving at set highway speeds for set period of time, and then decelerating without using brakes, etc), and I'm still getting "Not Ready" on my obd2 scanner. Do I have to continue driving for a longer period of time? Should I be replacing the egr vacuum solenoid? What is my next option? I have a week until my tags are due so I'm kinda pressed for time. Thanks

Hi there I am technology tech mechanic I work on electric and man. I come from long line of mechanics I am 5gen!!!!! No it is emc system I am betting that the heated o2 is not doing it job test them to see! It would also have to do with the obd codes for the future the obd codes just tell you bout were to start or what is the bigger problem with the system! Bench test the o2!!!!! Have you check the mass flow sin. Check out the injects they may be taking air you can just test with a spay bottle and leave car at idle and spay them make sure you are not putting to much but if you see it take in water and you can hear from the motor too!!!! Also do the manifold and all vac lines and pump and if the is you will see and hear it here is my email address let me know what you find out and if you need anything else or need steps to test ill give you my phone number if need be so that you can get the car fix! God bless you and good luck hope that I hoped you out but for real let me know what happen

What causes an 'EGR Incomplete' report?

when you change a component in emissions it changes and clears the ready back to inc so you would need the system to cycle through to get it into ready mode dont change any thing just need to put mileage on it or try a quick cycle https://www.smogtips.com/smog-question/2833/2001-Nissan-Altima-OBDII-Monitors-Not-Ready

Why doesn't it pass smog (test) because secondary air system is not ready?

Hello Vason,

Is your engine light on?

If so, you need to plug in a diagnostic OBD II reader. Acquire the codes and follow their designation to determine the probable fault source.

And yes if any monitored system, for any reason, does not complete its start up cycle your vehicles ECC will not provide the green light all is well return to the diagnostic tester.

Hi, I found this answer online for you.
"Just drive the car normally for about a week (50-75 miles various driving conditions) and the ready status should be complete to the point where the smog check will show ready. You can ask the smog check technician to check the readiness status before the test is redone to be sure."
Good Luck,
