Did you replace the bulb with the same number as the old bulb? Different numbers will fit in the socket ok but draw a different amount of current thru the flasher unit. This will cause rapid flashing or slow flashing when all the bulbs are good.

Fast flashing usually indicates that one of the exterior bulbs isn't functioning. You've checked front and rear signal lights, right? If the bulb is good, it could be corrosion in the socket, bad ground, broken wire, etc.

Have a 2009 chevy cobalt. the left turn tail light even though not fused will not blink, and the left indicator light flickers too fast. the right though is working perfectly

Buy a two pack of turn signal bulbs. Change the front and rear left bulbs and try it out. If you're lucky, you're done and got away cheap. If not, start chasing electrons. Not an overly complicated circuit, the signal is quick flashing because you have an inoperative lamp.

Usually when the signal is blinking fast it just means the bulb is broken, disconnected, or the wire may have a short or break in it. take care and good luck. Especially if the front one is working.
