You have an upper hose, and a lower hose and both are attached to the radiator just in front of the engine and lead to the engine. The upper hose leads to the top of the engine where the thermostat housing is located. The loser hose usually go to the water pump near the middle of the engine.

SMALL COOLANT HOSES ON RADIATOR OVERFLOW JUG LOCATION. BACK SMALL HOSE ON OVERFLOW JUG GOES TO THERMOSTAT HOUSING THE SMALL FRONT HOSE ON OVER FLOW JUG GOES TO RADIATOR.LOOK AT TOP RADIATOR ON PASSENGER SIDE YOU WILL SEE SMALL TUBE ON RADIATOR THATS WHERE OTHER SMALL HOSE GOES.
Turn the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator counterclockwise to drain the coolant from your Ford Taurus into a suitable container. Depending on the size of the container, it may be necessary to lift the front end of your Taurus with a jack and lower it onto jack stands, or use wheel ramps.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the point where it meets the thermostat housing at the front of the intake manifold. Loosen the hose clamp and pull the radiator hose off the water connection on the thermostat housing.
Take out the two bolts on the thermostat housing cover with a 13mm socket or wrench and remove the cover. Clean any old gasket residue from the inside of the thermostat housing cover. Pull out the old thermostat.
Insert the new thermostat into the thermostat housing with the spring-side facing into the engine. Install the new thermostat gasket. Use a spray adhesive to hold the gasket in place, if desired.
Reinstall the thermostat housing cover. Tighten the bolts to 89-124 in. lbs. Reattach the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing. Make sure the drain valve on the radiator is closed.
Fill the radiator with new or reserve coolant. Start your Ford Taurus and allow it to warm up to its normal operating temperature. Check hoses and connections for leaks and tighten hose clamps to stop any leaks, if necessary. Add more coolant as needed.
Yes this could be a hose, a heaterhose, fill the cooling system and run the engine so that preasure build then before it gets hot shut it down and look for mhoses and squeeze them and try to locate coolant coming out , a preasure tester would be a great tool to find this leak but by you squeezing the hoses you should find the leak or even when the engine runs it may push water out, or sometimes when filling the system you can find the leak. hope this is helpful.
have u bled the cooling system ?warm the car and cut the car off right before the fans come on ,let sit for 30-35 minutes,see if the coolant drops in res. if so repeat process untill coolant stops droping ,then drive car regularly if overheating stops ,but monitor it because it will drop somemore/there has been reports of new and rebuilt water pumps nt having correct propelar mounted on them/ backwards etc. if this helps let me know [email protected]
Under the wiring harness, which is under the fuel rail, which is under the upper intake manifold. From the front of the car and starting at the throttle body, locate a large rubber hose coming out the bottom of the throttle body, this hose comes straight down, then bends towards the front of the car. A plastic pipe connects to this rubber hose and the plastic pipe continues forward, then bends to the passenger side and dives under the wiring harness a few inches and connects to a 2" long rubber hose which is then connected to the PCV. You can see it actually. Locate the big coolant hose that is just above where the plastic pipe dives under the wiring harness, if you shine a light over the top of this hose and at a fairlt steep angle allowing you to see under the harness, you can make out the PCV.
