I have a 1989 chevy s10 blazer, have a puff of smoke coming out the tailpipe when i first start it, i have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and also replaced the fuel filter and the inlet line going to the fuel filter, there are no idiot lights on, no check engine, no service engine, anyone have any ideas?
*this the S10 blazer NOT the K5*
The puff of smoke is one of 2 things, dampness in the exhuast from setting over night, like ice water on a hot day ,the glass draws miosture, this is harmless, the other is worn valve seals,a puff of gray blue smoke then it,s gone, harmless.,but if it smokes while your driving it after 2 minits you may need new positive check valve $5 part,if it uses excessive oil have it checked
A puff of smoke when you start up indicates worn valve seals. That's why all your work didn't fix the problem and it doesn't show a code. It's a pain in the --- job that requires some specialized tools so I guess it depends on how bad it bugs you,if oyu want to fix it.
