SOURCE: Head bolt torque specs needed for 96 tbird 3.8

Head bolts are torque to yeild so you MUST use new bolts.
Tighten cylinder head retaining bolts in numerical sequence in three steps as follows:

  1. 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  1. 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  1. 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
Loosen retaining bolts one at a time two to three revolutions and retighten as follows:

Long bolts:
  • Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Short Bolts:
  • Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).
  • Rotate an additional 175-185 degrees.
  • Go to next bolt in sequence.
Here is a pic of the sequence

Torque setting Head Gasket Corolla 1997

The torque specification for the head bolts on a 1997 Toyota Corolla is usually between 26 and 30 foot-pounds. It's important to note that the torque specification can vary depending on the specific engine and head bolt type, so it's always best to consult a service manual or other reliable source for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

It's also important to follow the proper tightening sequence when installing the head gasket. The tightening sequence is usually specified in the service manual and is designed to ensure that the head bolts are tightened evenly and to the proper torque specification.

I recommend using a torque wrench to ensure that the bolts are tightened to the proper torque specification. It's also important to use a torque angle gauge to ensure that the bolts are tightened to the proper angle.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

OIL IS LEAKING FROM THE HEAD OF A 2006 SONATA ONTO THE ALTERNATOR AND SHORTING IT OUT .CAN THE HEAD BOLTS BE RE TORQUED ENOUGH TO STOP IT

1) The oil of which you speak should be coming from the valve cover gasket, not the head gasket.
That being the case, you will be needing to replace that gasket, or take it off and re-seal it, as the case may be. ( Some modern gaskets are re-usable, do not need replacement.)
2) You can, of course, re-torque the head bolts is you wish, but know that in today's world, head bolts are often replaced, not re-torqued, because they are considered to be "stretched" with only one use, and are replaced.
Also, you have an aluminum block, so re-torquing the head bolts may not be what you really wish to do.
If only one bolt even begins to "strip" you are in a big problem.
God bless your efforts.

Intake to head bolt torque

Intake bolt torque is 11-14 foot pounds. Note:
to torque bolts & nuts, start in center using
crisscross pattern working outward. And as Far as the sealant goes, you shouldn't need any additional sealant since the new gasket has sealant.(just make sure both surfaces are clean an free of oil.) sometimes if the head or the block show signs of pitting on the matteing surfaces then you could use a litttle of that cooper spray gasket to coat the new gasket.
