Question about GMC Sierra

My 2003 Sierra's blower came on by itself in the garage while I was sleeping and ran the battery completely down. I had to replace the blower switch located under the glove box next to the blower at the bottom of the right corner of the dash. The switch is in front of the blower and held in by two screws. Disconnect the two wire connections. This is a "dealer only" part and cost me 65.00. Also check the wire harness with seven wires connected to it for melted plastic. It will be marked "ABCDEFG". If it has melted, you'll need to replace it. Pay attention when reinstalling either part, that the wires "ABCDEFG" match the switch in that order.

I have a 92 Suburban with the same issue (been going on for about a year) AC will turn on when hit a bump in the road... and off with the same type of bump...
I had researched just about everything including replacing the RELAY behind the glove box...
this still didn't help...
finally after replacing most the hardware... I started tracing the wires and found that there is a plug under the glove box there there is a HOT (red) wire that was overheating due to a bad connection and it was melting...
here is where my plug is...
- open the glove box & remove the door
- remove the screws on sides of glove box and remove the glove box it's self...
(you should now see many wires and things)
- now this is where I replaced the relay... I think it was the middle one... if you replace it you will want to refer to a manual or call a dealership to make sure you replace the right one... (it was like $24 or $27)... here is a link to what the relay looks like...
-then if you follow the RED wire out of that relay.... about 3 feet of wire or so.... you will find a connector... with 5 Wires (Mine are colored - Red, Orange, Lime, Black and Green)
** this is the connector that seems to be my problem
Either Replace the Connectors or the (cheap way to fix it is remove the connector and clamp and/or sodier each of the 5 pairs of wires together without the plug... )
I am currently waiting for a new plug from my local dealer but I have bypassed the connector and manually connected the wires until the dealer gets the connector get it...

First thing unhook positive battery cable, unhook main cable on starter selanoid and small wire on selanoid (there may be 2 small wires) There may be a bracket on front of starter that has to be removed, and then the 2 main bolts that hold it to engine block and it should come out.

your heat/cool and vent selection options are controlled by engine vacuum through small clear tubes attached to the rear of your climate control interface. Other vehicles have small steel pull wires that operate the desired changes. You might try removing the trim and any fasteners affiliated with the interface/console. GENTLY pull outward and look to see if any of these tubes are pulled off or cut/damaged. Did anyone recently install a new stereo in the vehicle? If so, the vacuum tubing and or pull wires that change your outlets could have been damaged when the stereo unit was pushed into place. Hope this helps

no! if it was resistor you would have high fan speed only. the issue you are having is electrical supply to the instrument panel.check your fuses.
