need to have vechicle code scan. there is a reason when you see check engine light flashing. the pcm has locate a fault in the engine control system. could have vacuum leak, missing or loose gas cap.could be getting engine misfire.you need to have vechicle code scan at dealership or auto zone which will do it free see what causing check engine light to flash.you cant erase code from pcm long as problem remains.the check engine light only can be reset when you fix problem.but you need code scanner to erase code.
I doubt the service person did anything wrong. In today's cars with both engine and body computers, jump starting a car can be risky. You're better off having the battery charged for an hour or so then trying to start it. You may have to have the body computer scanned and possibly flashed to get everything working again. The body computer controls everything you mentioned. It could have lost some of the factory programming when the system was dead.
Hello; Hopefully you can use this info. First , Make sure the washer fluid is not empty. or the connector on the reservoir is intact and proper connection is made. If there is a questionable connection, simply moving it willclear it up. On the re programing suggestion is really not re programing. More like resetting. Obtain an obd2 code scanner and get the diagnostic fault code from the car. This will confirm it is the system you suspect. After completing my suggestion, erase the fault code with the scan tool. If you have corrected the problem , the flashing will stop. Of course, if not the flashing will return and the fault code will again be there to read.. Question? Do these systems work regardless of lights flashing? I ask because if not, the light is indicating a system failure. If they do work the light is an alert of system discrepancy that is usually a maintenance issue. Peas keep me informed on the findings and feel free to seek my assistance through fix-ya. Thank you.-Ned_
The flashing "C" in the Instrument cluster if for the Compass. Here's the bulletine...
Subject: Compass Displays a Steady or Flashing "C" In Place Of Directional Heading Models: 2008 Saturn VUE built on or after 11/09/2007 This PI was superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIT4699.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern: The compass displays a steady or flashing "C" in place of directional heading.
To return to a normal heading display, press and hold the cluster stem for approximately 2 Seconds.
The displayed heading is not correct after driving for 30 seconds, use the following "Compass Calibration" routine.
Press cluster stem until the Season Odometer is displayed (Not Trip A or B).
Press and hold cluster Stem until the solid "C" is displayed. To the right of the "C" will be the "Zone". Refer to the variation zone map above for the correct setting. Turn the stem Right to increase, Left to decrease. It will take a few seconds for a change of zone to be updated in the display.
Once the Zone is correct, press the Stem to display the Flashing "C". Do not touch the Stem again until the direction is learned. Drive the vehicle in slow circles in an open area until you see a compass (oc tant) heading replace the flashing C.
Note: Vehicles built prior to 11/09/2007 were not built with a compass.
Recommendation/Instructions: Engineering is aware of this condition and is in the process of root causing. It is known that the Remote Compass Module (RCM), Body Control Module (BCM) and Cluster hardware are not at fault, and these parts should not be replaced.
Reinforce with the PDI technicians that the Compass Zone and calibration is still required as part of PDI.

I'm not 100% on this but I think it's like a lot of GM's; turn the key to the "on" position(not running), stomp the gas pedal to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds & the light should flash & go out.
GM Oil Life System This system calculates the estimated
percentage of the engine oils remaining useful life and alerts you
through the DIC when its time to change the oil by displaying CHANGE
OIL. Please remember to always reset the oil life system after an oil
change.
Reset the oil life system Press and hold the control stem
for more than two seconds while OIL LIFE is displayed. When completed,
the system will reset and a beep will sound.
Good Luck and Remember. Change Your Mind, Not Your Oil. Use the First In Synthetic Motor Oil's. See My Bio For Information & Contact Details. Nice, but doesn't work for my 2006 Silverado. My manual says: 1. Turn ignition key to RUN with engine off. 2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
If the OIL LIFE RESET message flashes for 10 seconds, the system is resetting. 3. Turn the key to LOCK.
i would check the tires first to make sure they are properly filled you should have around 40lbs or so keep in mind that as u drive the tires heat up which causes air to expand, and when they cool the air will shrink also check valve stems make sure they arnt leaking spray some windex on them see if u see air bubbles coming out or not. if u are low on air would recomand filling the tires up at night when its cool out air is more dense when its cool then hot will help keep your tire pressure from fluctuating as much or you can look into getting the tires filled with nitrogen. i dont think there is a way to turn that light off you can try the same way u reset the oil light on that car put key in on position press gas three or five times cant remember then start the car see if it flashes and goes off dont worry u wont flood the motor its electronic fuel injection let me know if this helped u any
