How to disable airbag - 2006 Ford Taurus

Dont disable airbags.
If you must, then remove battery first!
Unplug airbag carefully, refit battery.
Your airbag light on facia will light up now because the circuit is incomplete.
Please be really carefull, these are DANGEROUS

Unless the vehicle is fitted with a manual 'OFF' switch, then presumably there is no other simple way of disabling the passenger airbag without disconnecting the air-bag module. This is not recommended however and may disrupt the operation of the SRS system.

if you remove the battery it disables the airbag firing mechanism. I would still be extremely careful because I thing they use some kind of explosive cap to fire it. If you aren't comfortable find a mechanic to do it for you. better safe than sorr

There is no user operated key to disable passenger airbag like on most newer cars, for what you are attempting just disconnect the battery! This should allow you to remove the dash without activating the airbag!

do you have the airbag disabled on the passenger side? have you turned the key in the disable passenger side airbag. if the airbag is disabled then the light will stay on

You can disable the airbag by disconnecting the battery and waiting 15 minutes. Power is stored in the electronics of the air bag and if you wait about 15 minutes it will discharge and the airbag should be disarmed.

There is no way to disable the airbag on this vehicle without setting the airbag light on which will cause the air bags not to work on impack ... sorry not a good idea

Well, for one you not suppose to put a baby seat in the front of the car. But anyways with an older airbag control system like that you cannot just disable one airbag, if you unplug the passenger side airbag then in an accident neither airbags will deploy.

Pull your airbag fuse out (It might be labeled Airbag, or SRS)
This will have your airbag warning light stay on in your dash, until you put the fuse back in.

WARNING : I did NOT tell you that... Don't worry there is no way the air bags can go off just by removing or replacing the fuse, but I'm just covering my bases here. In the event of an accident, I don't want to be the guy that told you to pull the fuse out (this disables both air bags), if you do pull the fuse you are responsible for that action if, god forbid, something happens.
