On the '93-'94 cars, all the wheel speed sensors connect to the Anti-Lock Brake System ECU, which is mounted on the left inner wheel well in the trunk. But the ABS ECU determines road speed based only on the signal from the front right wheel sensor.

THE ABS ECU sends the road speed signal to the Instrument Pack on a Green wire with a Pink tracer line. The Instrument Pack forwards the signal on to the ECM on a Brown wire (this info comes from the 1993 XJ6 Electrical Guide).

You can check for debris or corrosion on the body of the right front wheel speed sensor and its toothed reluctor ring; clean the sensor's electrical connector with zero-residue electrical contact cleaner spray, allow it to dry, then carefully re-seat the two halves of the connector; and carefully inspect the sensor wiring harnesses for damage.

Also, check the VCM for the FF 68 Diagnostic Code, which indicates a problem with a road speed sensor circuit or the signal from the ABS ECU to the Instrument Pack. To check, turn the key to Position II (Ignition ON) but do not start the engine. Press the VCM (Vehicle Condition Monitor) button on the trip computer to the right of the steering wheel, and watch for a message in the small display below the speedometer.

SOURCE: changed nearside rear wheel hub xj6 sport

i think you replaced the wrong hub., hub come with and without abs the ones with out abs fit the same but are missing a ridge on the back that has bumps. that is what the sensor reads for the abs and for the speed. i think you got a hub for a can without abs.the only other thing is that you cut the wire that goes to the wheel sensor when u replaced the hub. not matter what for some reason the info from that sensor isnt making it to the computer. start with a quick check of the wire (dont waste to much time with that) then look behind the hub and see if there is the ridge for the abs. if not or you cant tell i would just replace the hub anyway because that is the most likely answer to your problem.

SOURCE: Radio doesn't work and I think it's a fuse but

The fuse you are looking for, will be labeled as ICE (In Car Entertainment). A the side of the engine bay, is a plastic lid, inside are some fuses, under the lid, is a label indicating the other fuse locations. These radios have a common fault, try inserting a tape, with the key on accessory. If it powers up, then your next problem will be turning it off. A firm push on the eject button can often fix the fault temporarily. I currently have my center console out, with the radio apart, to try and locate the real problem. If any button or volume control is read as being closed (pressed), then no other button will work, no power on/off, volume control, etc. I am looking at the cx7991 chip which interprets the buttons and controls, or a fault in the PCB connections between. If I find the answer, I will update the post.

Dash and radio lights don't work at night. They are on during the day. 2003 Chev Impala. Have checked all the fuses.

The same thing happens on my 2003 Impala. I found that my dimmer switch has an intermittent failure where sometimes the dash lights go out even with the headlights on.
If I wiggle the dimmer just right, the dash, radio, steering wheel, door locks, and every other light comes on (when the headlights are on). My fix was to mount my Garmin on the steering column in front of the speedometer so when the lights go out I know how fast I'm going. A replacement dimmer (or bypassing the current one and adding a resistor) should take care of it.

95 dodge neon speedometer only works part time

We have the same problem and it is a dash control board fault. While driving place your hand palm up on top of the steering column and push up against the underside of the dash below the speedo. More often than not the needle will pop up and start working again. If this is so then get a small block of wood and jam it in there. It's worked for our car for the last 2 years. If your speedo isn't working then your odometer isn't as well.

Trying to replace the speedo cable on my 72 olds 98. How do i get to the cable at the speedometer? do i have to take off the entire dash?

It's easier to remove the speedo part of the dash, screws on top of cluster and around steering column, I can't remember where all the srews are, as you pull it out, reach behind it and unclip the cable, there should be an electrical connector also, now you can reach the cable. I can't remember if the steering column need to drop down, I guess you will find out.
Sorry it's been awhile since I worked on that old of car, but I had a 73 - 442 good luck

Rear and interior dashboard lights don't work 1994 Crown Vic.

Easy stuff first. Try replacing the #9 fuse on the interior fuse panel. This fuse protects the instrument panel, license, parking and tail light circuits. The panel is located under the dash to the left of the steering column. You will need to pry off the cover on the panel to access the fuses. The fuse you want is a 15 amp fuse located directly under the turn signal flasher. It should be easy to figure out which fuse it is because it will be 'blown' or open. This is easy to determine just by looking at the fuse once it's removed. And, if you aren't sure what's what, I'm sure you can find a diagram of this fuse panel somewhere on the Internets if you look around a little. I took this info out of the Owner Manual from my own '94 Vic. If this doesn't solve the problem I would suggest taking your Vic to a shop and letting them take a look at it.

It may be a faulty speedometer with a short inside, or a short on speedometer wirings or connector.

Whenever car vibration cause the wiring to short, there you lose speedometer and trans functionality.

You need to access the speedometer connector and wirings to
instrument panel to fix this.
