I have 2006 dodge charger Rt. I brought new battery an starter an have alternator rebuilt an my car still wont crank

There should be power o the small terminal of the stater anytime the key is in the crank position. I would start with checking that. If there is no power you will need to trace that circuit back.

That wire gets power from the starter relay and the relay gets power from fuse 20 in the TIPM (underhood fuse box). The starter relay control side starts at the ignition switch. The pink with dark green wire should have power with the key in the crank position. That power goes to fuse #10 in the TIPM. it then goes to the starter relay. the starter relay is grounded by the PCM.

Give that a whirl.

Hi, When I start the car if it has been idle over night, there is often a strong squeaky noise as i pull off the incline in reverse, of where it is parked behind our house, and as I turn the steering...

Check the belts. If you can, open the hood, and crank it up cold, with the a/c and lights and rear defroster on, if the belts are noisy, spray water on them with a squirt bottle, if the noise stops, then replace the belts.

2001 Ford Explorer won't start- not a battery problem- all electrical is fine and it cranks but doesn't seem to get fuel??

hi first off, have you checked your fuses, this could be an obviuse thing but most people dont, relays in the fuse box? find the relay for the fuel pump and tap it it might be the internal switch has stuck and might need replacing, also, when you turn your ignition on, do you hear a whirling sound from the rear of the vehicle? if you turn your ignition on but only to the first position not cranking, keep listening to see if you can hear the pump cut in, this will last a few seconds if not check the first bits that i said, then you will have to get the fuel pump in the tank tested, you could go under the hood( i think thats what you say in the USA) locate the fuel line, remove the line to the supply put a bucket under it or somthing to catch the fuel if it works, turn ignition to the first possition if you do not get any fuel out, then revert back to the above....hope this helps

Transmission stuck in 5th gear???

This is most likely one of your cam shaft sensors. The reason your transmission goes to 5th gear and stays there is because the car automatically goes into "safe mode". This prevents you from running the car on high RPM's which decreases the chance of causing more damage to the engine.
Depending on the code you get from the check engine light, it will be one of the cam-shaft sensors or the crank shaft sensor. A code reader will answer that question.
Often the sensor just fails or oil gets into the connectors which prevents proper reading. This sometimes goes away temporarily when engine is hot but problem will return.
To replace the cam shaft sensors you are looking at approximately 30 min of work. Its a tight fit but not a difficult job.
Cam shaft sensors are about $80. Not sure how much crank haft sensor is.
Hope this helps, and good luck.
