Why do my headlights flicker off and on when am Driving

You most likely have a bad headlight relay or a bad headlight switch.

Loose wires to the headlights or fuse panel.

This can be caused by a bad fuse, or a fuse with corroded or poor contacts, or a faulty headlight switch, or a problem with your wiring. Start with the fuse, then try turning the headlights on and off a few times to see if that helps. Otherwise, into the shop ...

When my headlights started to flicker at night, I soon found out it was the battery. It died one night sitting in a friend's driveway with the radio and headlights on. My battery was over 5 years old at the time, and the tow truck driver said I was lucky to have it work that long. I purchased a new battery and the lights no longer flicker at night. COULD BE FAULTY DRL HEAD LIGHT RELAYS OR FAULTY DIMMER SWITCH.SINCE HEADLIGHTS TURN ON AUTOMATIC.TRY USING MANUAL HEAD LIGHT SWITCH ON TURN SIGNAL SWITCH LEVER SEE IF HEADLIGHTS STAY ON IF LIGHTS STAYS ON YOU HAVE FAULTY DRL HEADLIGHT RELAY.IF LIGHTS STILL FLICKER OFF.YOU HAVE BAD DIMMER SWITCH.

right and left front fog lights do not have separate circuits, so that is a bulb or wiring issue.

Flickering is more likely the relay than the switch. Do the high beams flicker? They are on a different relay. I will paste the diagram, but the resolution will be poor :o(

we just replaced the alternator in our 2003 mazda tribute then we were driving it at night and the headlights,dash lights were flickering as if ready to go out.....need help what to do

this problem is caused by a tiny micro switch that is attached to the door latch inside the doors, the stick and give this false warning, have replaced dozens of them, it is called the "door ajar" switch oddly enough :)

The only thing that I can see and should make sense is the body control module controls the ground side of the headlight relay.

Maybe the control module is defective or the wire to the relay ground side.... grounds itself somehow which would also cause the flickering.

check your connections at the headlights especially if they are sealed beams with the three way connecter sometimes they will get corrosion, or dirt and not get the propper contact vibrations from driving will cause them to lose contact.

next check your headlight relay it could be going bad and not pulling the internal switchinside of it to close.
