The fuel shut-off switch (inertia switch) is located probably in the rear somewhere, like behind a side or kick panel , or sometimes it is located in the kick panel on the front passenger side.
But this switch is only for fuel shut off in case of accident or emergency. It will not affect the starting circuit. Something else would be preventing from cranking the engine over. Since you have a new starter, there must be a problem in the start circuit. If security light is flashing when trying to start it, it must be activated. If not, you need to see if power is going to starter solenoid with key held in crank position.
It's called an inertia switch..I usually trips when you have an accident , get hit really hard. Most are located behind the passenger side kick panel.. remove the panel and you should see the switch mounted and the red part of the button will be showing (indicating it has been tripped). Just push it back down and see if the vehicle starts. There is also a relay that this switch feeds that is located in the fuse box in the engine compartment...check both.
when you get in a accident there something called a inertia switch its calibrated when the car gets hit the g-force pops the switch and kills the fuel pump find the switch it a red button look on line should be able to look up the model and location of senor button try that first all cars have them mine is to the left of the d/s floor board find red button push down start good luck
try resetting fuel pump kill switch , something have bumped into a accident sensor . did it sputter to a stop or just stop running ? if it sputtered try to prime pump by turning car on for a few seconds a couple of times then try to start . the kill switch is behind one of the side panels in front of the doors . good luck
The switch you speak of , as far as I remember was for accidents where cars rollover. This was to prevent fire. I believe in your case because of the area ,side front of car, your problem lies with your crankshaft sensor. Sometimes all it takes is a jolt and these sensors give up there life. This sensor on your car is located on the front left side of your engine, in the immediate area of your accident. If you can , try to get some body to pull up the codes from your computer. These codes will tell you what the problem is with your car. Please let me know how you make out. GOOD LUCK.
Ford vehicles have an auto shut-down switch. The switch is in the trunk. If a Ford is hit with enough force or if the car rolls over in an accident, the switch is triggered and it shuts off the vehicle. This is to prevent fuel from continuing to flow to the engine, possibly causing a fire. If you were hit in the rear and the car will not start, look for the shut-down switch in the trunk. It is usually on the driver's side under the carpet.
Fuel pump is located inside your fuel tank.Sometimes if you have involved in an accident there is automatic shut off switch that will kill the fuel pump operations and prevent fire durring accident.Chek your manual for fuel pump shut off switch. Sometimes is located in the Trunk or in front of vehicle on driver side under dash on left side panel.
