Start car..drive 5-10min..turn off run in store 5 min..start and die!..2ND TRY GOOD..LIGHT FUEL SMELL

95 3.8 hard starting when cold,starts dies starts dies, doesn,t respond to the throttle part of the time. and it also surges during this time. finally after mabie 5 min. of this it will run

I would try fuel pressure regulator first easy to check, on the fuel rail which the injectors are hooked is where its mounted if you look on eBay im sure you will find a picture of one, anyways there is a vacuum line that plugs onto the regulator, pull it off the regulator and smell it, if it smell like gas or has gasoline in it (vacuum line) the pressure regulator is bad, this would be my first check in diagnosing this problem, and its an easy fix if it is, good luck.

86 4.3 4BC 1500 Chevy Die rolling up to light Started up and ch of fuel and it died 3 times now no start smell fuel and quit yellow spark Have replaced cap rotor plugs wires EGR coil ECM Rebuilt carb

It sounds more like a fuel problem to me then a bad coil or spark ign the spark should be blue but its hard to see in daylight
You say you rebuilt the carb are you sure your main mixture jets are at least 2 to 3 turns out off the stops .
Try pouring fuel down the barrel fill the float bowl if it runs then dies its fuel don't let it catch unfire you should have 45 sec. of run time then adjust the the mixture screws 2 turns is base but when its is running good turn them in 1 at a time and give it 30 sec. to adjust until it starts to stumble then back it out a 1/4 two 1/2 turn then repeat on bank 2

Your problem may be one of the following:
First check or just replace the fuel filter. Usually located under the car in front of the rear axle, drivers side.
Next, the fuel pump may be worn out. Usually they just stop working (running).
Next, check the fuel pressure regulator. Usually located on the front fuel rail, drivers side.
Is the vacuum line attached? Not leaking or rotted?
Also, do you smell a strong fuel odor when it won't start? May be one or more stuck-open injectors, or the coil pack is bad.
Checking these in the order listed will more than likely fix your problem.
The clicking noise indicates the battery can no longer run the starter, which also means the fuel pump won't run either.

It could be a fuel issue. How old is the fuel filter? Can you hear the pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key on? Try turning the key to ON without trying to start engine three times waiting for the pump to stop running each time. Then try to start the engine. If it starts, Its a form of Vapor lock caused by the extreme heat we have had lately, and a weak fuel pump.

If none of this works, try a new fuel filter first. From there have someone check the fuel pressure regulator and then the pump. If you are in need of a new pump, take my word for it and spend the money to get one from a Dealer, and not from your favorite parts store. Most parts store parts are made in China and they are JUNK.

89 regal won,t start but after 5 or 10 min. runs great

sounds like your fuel pump is going out. One thought might be that the fuel filter is causing enough resistance to over heat the pump. I would check the fule pressure to determine a free flow of fuel.

99 GMC Sierra Pickup: Crank but no start. starts with starting fluid but dies. changed out the fuel filter. still not start. Do I have a bad Fuel Pump? Security light flashes then goes solid after 10 min....

The theft light issue is a good observation. Have you replaced the key tumbler or an ignition component lately? Has there been a lightning storm close very recently?

What the flashing security light is indicating is an attempt to relearn the key you are using.
Turn the key to run position, allow light to flash for 10 minutes, when light stops flashing turn ignition to OFF position for 5 seconds, turn ignition to run position and start over. Do this for 3 consecutive cycles, the the theft system will relearn the key cylinder code and store it once again.
Try that first before you go any further.
Let me know what you find.

1985 Toyota pickup 22r non cali emissions ( Drives then dies no fuel in carb)

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the rubber fuel lines being old and cracked. The hoses would warm up and fuel would squirt out of the cracks. I had to replace three fuel line hoses and it has been running great ever since. Good luck.

Motor turns over good but wont start

please.. 1991 chevy lumina..mech has car for 4 days..
repl ICM.ECM..checked ..all fuses.cranks..no run..smell fuel.
says spark good.Fuel press @ 42. put light on fuel injec sensor
..tells me weak signal( light shud be brighter) .Says it ran once
in 4 days for 2 min & died..." tells me injectors not accepting fuel
