Is there a torque spec for the plenum nuts going on the intake manifold studs? on 1991 honda accord 2.2 l

There is a gasket in between plenum and intake manifold.

wow. a lot of bad information on this site. Refer to a manual for the proper torque sequence. The civic I believe is a two step torque procedure. First 22 ft lbs, than 53 ft lbs.

03 Dodge Intrepid intake manifold torque specs top & bottom is for 3.5 V6

Lower Intake:
  1. Use a skin coat of RTV silicone on both sides of the water passage ports (outer most holes) and put the new lower intake gaskets into place
  2. Hand tighten the 13mm head intake bolts and Torque the bolts , starting from the center and working your way out in a circular pattern
  3. Torque these bolts in a few small increments until they have reached 250 inch pounds of torque.
  4. Upper Intake Plenum:
  5. When installing the intake air plenum , be sure to catch the four center bolts and the two side bolts (stiffener brackets) before tightening , The center bolts should be torqued to 250 inch pounds .The fuel rail bolts should be torqued to 100 inch pounds

WHAT IS THE TORQUE SPECS FOR INTAKE GASKETS

The torque specs are
-for intake manifold-to-cylinder head bolts/nuts
1996 and later-----132 in-lbs
-for intake manifold, upper to lower bolts
1995 and later-----89 in-lbs
-for cylinder head bolts
2001 and later----step 1--37
step 2--Turn an additional 120 degrees

Starter needs to be replaced. Need instruction procedure for a do it yourselfer.

Hi, I have pasted the procedure from autozone.com below. Because this requires removal of the intake manifold, please be as sure as possible that your starter needs replacement. If you have any doubt, please let me know what your symptoms are and what troubleshooting you have done that led you to believe your starter is bad. Also, if you have any questions about the procedure below, please let me know. Thanks for using FixYa.


Removal & Installation


Disconnect the Negative battery cable


Relieve the fuel system pressure (you can do this by placing a rag over the schrader valve on the fuel rail and pressing in the valve stem--just be careful not to spray fuel on your eyes).


Drain the cooling system.


Remove or disconnect the following:


  • Intake manifold heat shield
  • Sight shield
  • Coil module connectors from the coil modules located on the valve covers
  • Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose and valve from the valve cover
  • Fuel regulator vacuum tube
  • Vacuum tubes from the AIR solenoid
  • Fuel inlet and return lines
  • Fuel rail bracket retaining nut at the rear lift bracket
  • 2 pushnuts attaching the engine coolant heater wire and set it aside, if equipped
  • Fuel injector electrical connections
  • Fuel rail and injectors
  • Plenum duct clamp at the rear of the intake manifold, loosen
  • Intake manifold bolts and the manifold
Clean the manifold mating surfaces.


Remove or disconnect the following:
Starter electrical connectors Starter motor

To install:

Install or connect the following:

  • -S- terminal wire. Torque the nut to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
  • Starter electrical connectors. Torque the nut to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  • Starter motor
  • Mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).

  1. Grease the inside edge of the rubber plenum duct.
  2. Position the intake manifold by performing the following sub-steps:
    1. Place the rear of the intake manifold into the plenum duct.
    2. Place the front of the intake manifold downward on to the cylinder heads.

  3. Install the intake manifold bolts and torque to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) in the sequence illustrated. DO NOT torque the intake manifold bolts when the engine is HOT or at operating temperature.
  4. Make sure the plenum duct is fully attached to the rear of the intake manifold and tighten the plenum duct clamp to 20 inch lbs. (2.25 Nm).
  5. Install or connect the following:

    Fuel rail and injectors and tighten the rail retainers to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) Fuel injector electrical connections Alternator coolant pipe/surge tank pipe and position onto the fuel rail studs Engine coolant heater wire onto the studs and install the pushnuts, if equipped Fuel rail bracket retaining nut at the rear lift bracket and tighten to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) Fuel inlet and return lines Vacuum tubes to the AIR solenoid Fuel regulator vacuum tube Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve and hose to the valve cover Coil module connectors to the coil modules located on the valve covers Sight shield Intake manifold heat shield Negative battery cable
  6. Fill and bleed the cooling system.

Need cylinder head torque specifications 2004 hyundai elantra

Install the cylinder head bolts. Starting at top center, tighten all cylinder head bolts in sequence as shown in illustration, using the Cylinder Head Bolt Wrench (09221 - 32001) or equivalent. Repeat the procedure, re-tightening all cylinder head bolt to the specified torque. (torque spec is Cold Engine 105-115 Nm (76-83 ft lb) )
. Install the timing belt tensioner pulley.
. Install the timing belt on the camshaft sprocket, making sure that the tension side is tightened by turning the camshaft sprocket in reverse, all timing marks are in alignment.
. Adjust the timing according to "Timing Belt"
. Install the rocker cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Tightening torque: Rocker cover belt:

2.5-3.5 Nm (25-35 kg.cm, 2-3 ft. lbs.)

. Install the timing belt cover.
Install the new intake manifold gasket and the intake manifold. Tighten the nuts and bolts to the specified torque.
Install the new exhaust manifold gasket and the exhaust manifold. Tighten the exhaust manifold attaching nuts to the specified torque.
. Install the surge tank and tighten the nuts bolts to the specified torque.
. Install the power steering oil pump and bracket.
. Install the ignition coil.
. Install the air intake hose.
Connect the vacuum hose, fuel hose and water hose.
. Install breather hose.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
    1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    2. Negative battery cable
    • Supercharger
    • Thermostat housing
    • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube at the intake manifold
    • Engine Control Temperature (ECT) sensor
    • Intake manifold
  • To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:
      • Intake manifold with new gaskets. Torque the bolts, working from the center out, to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
      • ECT sensor connector
      • EGR tube to the intake manifold
      • Thermostat housing
      • Supercharger
      • Negative battery cable
    2. Refill and bleed the cooling system.
    3. Run the engine and check for leaks and proper engine operation.
    4.6L
    4.6L Engine
    1. Remove the brake booster hose from the throttle body.
    2. Remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube from the fuel pressure regulator and the water crossover.
    3. Remove the PCV fresh air feed tube from the camshaft cover and the throttle body.
    4. Remove the PCV dirty air tube from the PCV orifice in the right camshaft cover and from the intake manifold.
    5. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
    6. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness.
    7. Remove the fuel rail bracket nut from the engine lift bracket.
    8. Remove the fuel rail studs.
    9. Lift and remove the fuel rail with injectors.
    10. Loosen the plenum duct clamp in order to remove the intake manifold.
    11. Remove the intake manifold bolts.
    12. Remove the intake manifold.

    To install:

    1. Install the intake manifold, fitting the plenum duct over the intake manifold duct.
    2. Loosely install the intake manifold bolts.

    Intake manifold torque sequence-4.6L engine


    1. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence. Tighten the intake manifold bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    2. Tighten the plenum duct clamp to the intake manifold. Tighten the plenum duct clamp to 24 inch lbs. (2.75 Nm).
    3. Inspect the fuel injector O-rings. Ensure the fuel injector O-rings are not missing, misaligned or damaged. Replace the O-rings if necessary.
    4. Lubricate the intake manifold fuel injector bores with light mineral oil (GM P/N 9981704), clean engine oil, or equivalent.
    5. Install the fuel rail with fuel injectors as an assembly.
    6. Install the fuel rail studs. Tighten the fuel rail studs to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
    7. Install the fuel rail bracket nut to the engine lift bracket. Tighten the fuel rail bracket nut to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    8. Install the fuel injector wiring harness.
    9. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
    10. Install the PCV dirty air tube to the PCV orifice in the right camshaft cover and to the intake manifold.
    11. Install the PCV fresh air feed tube to the camshaft cover and the water crossover.
    12. Install the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube to the fuel pressure regulator and the throttle body.
    13. Install the brake booster hose to the throttle body.

    These are the steps to follow to remove the Starter Motor and the Intake Manifold. If you follow them you'll have no problems when the job is done. Pay special attention to the pre-installation steps for the Intake Manifold.

    To Replace the Starter, Remove or disconnect the following:
    1. Negative battery cable
    2. Intake manifold
    3. Starter electrical connectors
    4. Starter motor

    Need torque specs for 2000 chevy malibu 3.1 cyl heads & intake

    (step 1 ) the torque specs for the heads are---1998 through 2001 are 37 foot lbs. ( step 2) rotate an additional 90-degrees (1/4 turn). intake manifold bolts ( lower ) step 1-- 62 in-lbs, step 2--115 in-lbs. intake manifold bolts/studs ( upper ) 18 ft-lbs. this is for the 3.1 v-6, have a good day!
