Look closely to see if anything was dropped or anything heavy placed on the latch. It may be bent ever so little. If not then your servo is losing its value and will have to be replaced.
I hope my suggestions helps and all the luck to you.

Cant open trunk

Hi Kathleen lets try with a spare key to unlock trunk if that fails try with any key and a little WD 40. If none of these suggestions work then I'm gonna say that the rod that connects the key to the latch is disconnected or damaged. Gonna require pulling down rear seats using a flashlight, pulling down carpet that is in center of trunk above the latch and remove either 2 or 3 (amount)10 or 8mm (size)bolts that holds latch to inside of trunklid . Once removed the latch will stay on the lock hoop and the trunk should open. Afterwards you have to inspect the trunk lid to determine whether the clip that hold the rod is damaged and needs replacement. Good luck

Hatchback won't lock on saab 9-3

I had the very same problem with my 2002 Saab 9-3 after I manually moved the trunk latch to the locked position "out of curiosity..." Then I noticed there is a handle you can pull to release latch opening it up! Very simple remedy... It is a glow in the dark green plastic handle hanging down when the trunk/hatch is open dead center, just in slightly behind latch... Gently pull handle until you hear and see the latch click into the open position...Let me know how You make out. BTW: Toyota Camry has the same set up,same color as Good Luck!

check the trunk latch on the lid,use a screwdiver to see if it locks when you insert the shaft of the screwdriver in the latch. if it doesn't lock check the inside trunk release could be stuck in the up position.or the latch is dry try to oil it with dry lube or wd 40

Hi, can't get the trunk to close on my 2003 Volkwagon Jetta.

This can be cause by one of two things....

#1 The latch isn't lining up with the lock. Look closly at the lock assembly as it comes down on the latch the insure that enverything is going where it fits. If not use a screwdriver to pry, or soft blows with a mallet to move the latch.

#2 The lock isn't open. Look inside the lock as you use the key to open the trunk. Now with the key turned as you would to open the trunk, make sure the latching mechanism of the lock is open to allow the latch to slide into place. Use a screw driver to open it if it is stuck. A little WD-40 will cure it is this is the problem.

Good Luck

I have a 2001 Buick Lesabre, and my trunk will not stay closed. I don't know if it is my trunk latch or what. how can I fix this prolem?

either the latch is broken, repair parts will be needed, or the catch loosened and needs adjusting. does the trunk close with a motor? have you tried unlocking the trunk? maybe the latch is in the locked position or it's stuck in the latch position. if stuck, turn the key to unlock and pry with a screwdriver

My door latch will not lock in to place. It is below freezing and I dont know if the door is broke or the latch is just stuck

Likely it's just stuck. Spray it with wd 40 or other solvent and make sure the latch hook is open. If it's not, pull the door release handle (like you are opening the door) and gently pry the hook back to the open position.

My trunk will not open with the keypad nor the interior button. However it makes the noise as if it opened. Also my dash is flashing saying that my trunk is open. Clearly it is not.

spray some pb-balst oil you can get a can at any parts store or walmart and spray it in the where the key goes and use the key a few times and open the trunk and spray the latch and make sure the wires are good and for the most part it start woring again wish you the best Michigan Man.
