SOURCE: Water pumop removal
Yes u do, also lift the engine for easier access on that side if you have a floor jack, careful not to damage the pan..
SOURCE: how do i remove the oil pan on a 85 lesabre with a v8
You need to remove the transmission inspection cover under the torque convertor and also the bolts the hold the motor mounts together so you can jack the front of the engine up about 3 inches so the oil pan will slide out. You also need to take off the starter. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Oil leaks
you have to closely inspect the motor and the gaskets, the intake gasket often leeks oil, as does a head gasket, if you cant find anything on the lower end of the motor neaqr the pans, that would be the things i looked into next
SOURCE: got an oil change, now there's a bad leak. it's on
If it didnt use any oil before you had it changed i have the solution. Im going to asume you have checked to make sure the drain plug is tight so we will skip that. I think what happend is call filter stacking. This happends when the old filter is removed and the person changing it doesnt notice that the filter seal remained on the engine. Then he/she puts a new filter on and now there is 2 filter seals. 2 seal will leak. Drain the oil, remove the filter and see if there is a old filter seal stuck to the engine. If so peel it off put on the new filter, top off the oil and BAM your back in service. Hope this helps :)
