Replace the fan belt 2003 chevy tracker 2.0

Jerald, You will have to remove the the accessory belt first I believe by putting appropriate wrench on tensioner and pulling tensioner toward passenger side to allow removal of the belt. Then you will loosen alternator to let tension off fan belt and replace the fan belt. Reverse procedure to install. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Need to replace belts on a 2004 chevy tracker. Not a serpentine belt. How does one losen tension on the belt tensioner?

It is either bolted in place or it has a spring that can be released with a belt tensioner tool you get at an auto parts store. You might can use a 1/2" brakeover bar.

Where is the belt tensioner on a 2001 chevy tahoe

You need to remove the front belt first. Take the tension off the belt by putting a socket or wrench on the tensioner and pivot it away. I would make a quick sketch of the belt route if you don't have a diagram. The AC compressor tensioner is on the bottom and the belt comes off the same way. Installation is the reverse.

I have a 2001 chevy tracker and my belt is off . also the tension idler pully is damage and no one seem to carry it anywhere,, can i move my car to the other side of the street with out the belt ....can...

yes you can move it to the other side of the street. Just dont run it more than a few minutes because without the belt the water pump won't turn. Just be aware that the power steering wont work either in this process so it will be difficult to steer.
