I have a 98 catera and while driving i hit a hole in the road and the car died and wont start can you tell me what is wrong

When you say it wont start do you mean you turn the key and get nothing or you turn the key and the engine turns but wont start or what? Did it die when you hit the hole or just not start later? It may be the neutral safety switch if it just wont start

96 chevy cav. 2.2 died after hitting a bump, wont start, but if i hold pedal all the way down, sounds like it is firing on one cylr. but wont get running

Probably something got loose after hitting the bump.
Check the fuel pump, maybe a fuse got loose or burn, or maybe there is no electricity running to the fuel pump.

Inspect the sump and see if it hasn't been bashed up against the crank shaft. Check engine mounts for cracks. Check lines are not squashed or kinked.

CODE P0101 AND CODE P0341 i have a 96 chevy blazr 2dr 4x4 4.3L. I RECENTLY HIT A LARGE BUMP AND THE TRUCK STALLED.PULLED OVER AND STARTED IT BACK UP .IT RAN A SECOND OR TWO THEN STALLED AGAIN. IT WASN

Well the code 101 is for the MAF sensor and code 341 is for the cam sensor if equipped.
I'm showing a distributor for that engine so its possible something is going on inside of it.
My first guess would be something in the engine harness that was jarred loose.
You might have to test the circuits at the ECM to see if anything is not making the circuit back to it.
If the engine won't idle and the MAF code is present, you could have a large vac leak somewhere.

Hi,

The possibilities are too numerous to get into here.

Either take your vehicle to AutoZone for a FREE diagnostic scan or they'll loan you a scanner. This will enable you to pinpoint the problem(s) almost immediately.

All the best,

It is acting like it wants to start but wont ,hit a bump in road and died and had to tow it home

Hi,

Can you give me some more detail. What troubleshooting has been performed so far? Any error lights showing on the dash? Any symptoms of poor running prior to the bump? Any recent work or servicing carried out on the car?

I know its a Beetle but what is the engine size and exact version? Manual or Auto?

Thanks.

Few months ago had fuel pump assembly replaced. Not the pump but the assembly. Location is behind the rear seat above the fuel tank and actually its in the tank but can be reached by removing the rear seat...

I would say that you are on the right track , I think that maybe when the work was done on the fuel pump assy the mechanic may have pinched the power wire and hitting the bumps has caused it to short.you will have to take the seats out again (sorry). You need to look for a damaged wire or evidence of arcing .Hope this helps.
