What color is the tach wire coming out of the ignition module on a 1997 Neon?

I know your trying to find power for your ignition or from your ignition What are you trying to do ?

Year/make/model?

If it has an ignition control module there will be a "tach out" wire it is usually white in color, you can check that wire for tach signal. If no signal replace Ignition control module. If it has proper signal it is likely a bad gauge in the instrument cluster.

the ignition "control" module is internal to the engine control module. however the ignition coil is mounted right on top of the engine on the valve cover. don't forget to unlock the lock on the connector before unplugging it or you might break the connector trying to unplug it

connect it to the negative side of the coil wire.

MOST CARS TACH SIGNAL COMING FROM THE IGNITION MODULE AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR.BUT THE KIA SPORTAGE TACH SIGNAL CONTROLLED BY THE PCM.

That should be the white wire rom the dist to coil. eather way you will not hurt the tach if you were to get it wrong. There are only two wires. I would look at the distributor and on the top of the cap there it writing and it will say tach an you can plug it directli into that.

i know this worked with my 99 navigator 32 valve used a viper car starter.
