Hi,wich shift button are we talking abt? on the control pannel near the fan and a/c swiches or by the gear shifter? In any case if the button is supressed and the illum light in side of it will come on, that means that it in the "On" Position. If the button is poped up position or not supressed, then it is "Off" no metter wher and wich button that is. Hope that helps unless you have more detiles on it.
You use a breaker bar to move the tensioner, remove the belt and use the tensioner to put it back. You draw the belt and pulleys on a sheet of paper before removing, otherwise there should be a small diagram of the belt and pulley positions on the fan shroud or radiator support.
Most of the time accessory belts are changed along with timing components. If the belt was bad already they should have changed it or called her to say it was bad. I'd think this one should be on the house - either they reinstalled a bad belt or improperly installed a good one.
the serpentine belt drive system has a tensioner pulley losing the bolt wont help you have to put to belt on as it shows on the diagram on the fan shroud while rotating the tensioner to loosen position hold pressure on it put the belt over all the pullies then on the tensioner once the belt is around all the pulley and the tensioner rotate the tensioner to tighten the belt...hope this helps
undo all the cover of belt, then get access to loose the tensioner, mark down the belt position and take it off. Replaced it as position b4 then check the tension of the belt and the belt alignment of all pullys.then start the engine
i take it your talking about the serpentine belt? wich runs all the Pullys on the car. First of all you have a problem if this belt came off. wich could be a Bad Idler pully. but if the car has never been in a frontend collision. you can open up the hood and you will see a belt diagram listed either on the bottom of the hood or on the radiator support
no belts dont come off .you need a special fan wrench .remove bolts and push pins that attach the intake air baffle to the radiator support then remove the baffle disconnect the transmission cooler lines at the engine bracket and fan shroud.disconnect the electro viscous clutch electrical connector from the shroud.remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator be prepared for coolant spillage.remove the fan clutch hub from the water pump by turning it counterclockwise.unclip the shroud from radiator side panels then tilt the condensor and radiator forward.get somebody to help you.remove the fan and shroud as one unit.by lifting straight up as the condenser and radiator are being held in the forward position.the fan can now be unbolted from the clutch .then you put on new fan clutch .put every thing back visa versa.
