If jump started it may have blown a fuse that protects the junction box and computers from voltage spikes .

2002 chrysler 300m special through p0562 code

codes are OBDll and are available on line free

A P0562 code relates to voltage supply drops that can occur in your vehicle. Specifically, the code is activated when the Power Control Module (PCM) detects an irregular drop in the voltage supply. For example, around 13.5 to 15 volts should be supplied to the battery when the engine is on.
One of the most common causes of the P0562 code is a faulty or broken alternator or voltage regulator. If the alternator isn't functioning correctly, this will cause an excessive drain of the battery and voltage levels. Another possible cause of the code is loose or corroded alternator wiring. You may also find that high resistance in the battery cables can cause inconsistencies in system voltage levels. Blown fuses are another common cause when dealing with a P0562 code and worn-out car batteries. If something is causing a large battery drain, or if there is defective wiring connecting the alternator to the PCM, you will notice a P0562 code error. Finally, and least commonly, a faulty or broken PCM can cause the code to set.

Why does my code p0562 show as permanent? Check engine light came on & had it tested. Had 3 codes.. battery tested as bad so got nee battery. Check engine light went off. still have p0562 PPERMANENT

code p 0562 refers to system voltage --low causes --- wiring--poor connections ---battery -- alternator
also refers to ECM power relay control---circuit open causes wiring-- ECM relay
take it in to an accredited auto electrician and have the charging system checked out
could be a faulty voltage regulator , alternator or ECM relay

I have an 2002 Cavalier Z24. I recently brought it in for repairs. The Technician replaced the ECM/PCM and it's still acting the same way....the alternator just won't charge the battery. it's a new battery...

Hey Joe , The first thing to do would be check for battery voltage on the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator , if there is no voltage here there is a open circuit ! Which means the fusible link fried . This wire comes from the starter ! This charging system is controlled by the PCM , but they are rarely the problem . Do you have the charge indicator lit on the dash ? Do you have a check engine light on ? This system can set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
DTC B1328 DTC P0562 DTC P0563 DTC P0621 DTC P0622

My battery light went on, on. My 2003 GMC ENVOY, the message board said "battery not charging" .....I took it to autozone and they said I had a bad alternator which is why it would say battery not...

The charging system on your vehicle is Computer controlled . called ( smart charging system )
BATTERY NOT CHARGING
The IPC illuminates the battery not charging indicator in the driver information center when the following occurs:
• The PCM detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination.
• The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage.

Do you know what DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes are ?
DTC B1327
DTC B1328
DTC P0562
DTC P0563
DTC P0621
DTC P0622
DTC P1633
DTC P1634
DTC P1637
DTC P1638
These codes are all associated to charging system problems .

Battery light lit on the instrument cluster ?

Code p0562 on a 2004 Kia Spectra

Hi there:

P0562 KIA - System Voltage Low
The battery supplies electricity to the ECM even when the ignition switch is OFF. This electricity allows the ECM to store data such as DTC history, freeze frame data, fuel trim values and other data. If the battery voltage falls below a minimum level, the ECM will conclude that there is a fault in the power supply circuit. The next time the engine starts, the ECM will turn on the MIL and a DTC will be set.

Possible causes:

- Loose or missing alternator drive belt
- Faulty alternator
- Battery defective
- Open or short system voltage circuit

Tech notes:
Start by recharging or replacing the battery.

The P0562 code is detected when the battery voltage detected by the ECM is less than a calibrated value

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Slow engine start
- Low battery power

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

1999 pontiac grand am not charging

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) U1000 has a generic description of "Class 2 Serial Data Link Malfunction".
DTC U1064 has a description of "Loss Of Communication With Body Control Module (BCM)"
These codes can be caused by a malfunctioning charging system and should be ignored for now.

DTC P0562 has a description of "System Voltage Low". So this code basicly is only verifying that you indeed have a no-charging problem and that the other codes are most likely also caused by low system voltage.

Although these codes do verify that you have a charging system problem, they are useless in finding out exactly what is wrong with your charging system.

You will need a scan tool that is capable of 2-way communications with the PCM and performing system tests. you will also need a digital multimeter to test the system as you command the generator circuits on with the scanner. If your scanner can do this, let me know and I will get you the troubleshooting instructions for your vehicle. Otherwise, you will have to take it to someone who is properly equipped to diagnose your charging system.

I have an 1999 ford f350 7.3 powerstroke. I'm having white smoke coming out of the exhaust, I had trouble shot the vehicle the codes are DTC 04 p0562, DTC 03 p1670, DTC 02 p0603 and DTC 01 p0344. I...

P0344 = cam position sensor error
P0603 = Internal control module keep alive memory error.
P1670 = communication error between PCM and IDM
P0562 = system voltage low

My guess is you probably have some wiring issues but it's hard to tell exactly where.
