Had work done on motor in May. Light came on about a week after. They said that it was showing a 3 digit code and they didn't know what it meant. They reset it. Came on again yesterday and the code I got was P2 189. Should I take it back to the dealer again?

Which engine do you have fitted? The code translates as- P2189 = System Too Lean at Idle Bank 2.
This means on a V6 or V8 engine one side isn't getting enough fuel when idling at a standstill.
You will need to get the fuel supply system checked as it could be anything from an faulty injector to a weak fuel pump.
It means that your Traction Control System is currently off.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ elm 327 bluetooth
P2189: Sys Too Lean at Idle Bank2 P2187: Sys Too Lean at Idle Bank1
The other codes P2189PD & P2187PD are pending codes.. Meaning the car will have to recheck the errors before it calls it an error and sets the engine light on. They are the same codes as the others just the PD at the end means pending.
code p2189 and p2187 = air/fuel mixture too lean on both cylinder banks which in turn generates excessive emissions = failed inspection.
What can cause a lean mixture: - Incorrect main charge signal - Intake air system leaking - Fuel pressure too low - Volume supply of fuel pump too low - Mechanical fault in injectors - PCV valve leaks - Leaks in exhaust system - EVAP canister purge valve mechanically faulty (hangs open) All these must be checked.
