Replaced camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. still won't fire. I'm being told that my next step is to buy a computer for it. I'm being told that the timing belt looks okay, but need to know where the timing mark is for the crankshaft pulley. I need ideas please before I buy any more parts that don't work. Thank you so much for any help.
Best money saving idea is to run the fault codes
that will show if it is an ECM unit or something as simple as a faulty immobiliser unit
If the cam shaft is turning ,then the belt will be operational as they work or are broken
(the condition will determine the period before broken occurs)
check coil/s for voltage and if it has a distributor and cap check the cap for internal problems and the rotor button is tight and turning.

You need a 2 or three jaw puller. This picture shows it being done with the 3 jaw.But it can be done with a 2 jaw...Good Luck!!!!

SOURCE: HELP!!!!need timing marks for pajero 94 2.8 auto *** import
there is a little mark on the crankshaft which you line up with the 'o' mark on the casing ..
remove the cam cover and look at the cam you should see a nob on the cam about 3 th lob and that should be facing just left of the engine ..
if you have a turbo there is two notchs on the injection pump pully ..if turbo there is a 't' mark on the rear of the cover the notch on the pully should mark up with the 't'..
the timing is set..

You are correct, this key does drive both. While I have never tried to remove the keway with out both pulley and lower sprocket you may be able to (my gut says no but anything is worth trying once) I'd position the keyway at the 12 o'clock postion and with a good pair of needle nose pliers see if the key will roll out as you pull up and away with it. If it will not you'll of course have to remove the front of the engine and pull the timing belt, if over 60K miles on belt go ahead and replace with new.
I hope this may have assited and good luck!

you need to have the motor on top dead centre, and on compression stroke number one cylinder. That is the starting pointthis link will take you to a site that explains how the timing is sethttp://www.samarins.com/glossary/dohc.html
I hope this helpsregards
