SOURCE: Power steering reservoir Pontiac G6

some G6 do not have power streeing pumps
they have ELECTRIC POWER STEERING
all depends on the engine
2.2 4cylinder have electric
3.5V6 can have one or the other
if you have a V6 then you will see the power steering cap through the engine cover on the right side if it has hydralic power steering

SOURCE: engine light 2006 pontiac g6(reset)

first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. SOURCE: Cant find the power steering

In 2006 Pontiac put ELECTRIC power steering in the G6's.

Your looking under the hood in the right location its just under that. its all electrical. Must have been not such a good idea because they switched back to normal power steering in 2007.

(I have an 06 G6 V6)

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5L V6, and I can't find where to put power steering fluid in it. Can anyone share a diagram, please?

Not all power steering systems are hydraulic. I think some G6 models have electronic power steering so no fluid is needed. Referring to the owners manual it appears that only the 3.9L uses a hydraulic system. If there is a reservoir it will either be tucked behind the alternator or mounted on that end of the engine. The top mounted reservoir filler cap is on top of the engine to the left of the oil filler cap.

Hose routing diagram for 2006 Pontiac G6 3.5 liter V6

On the 2006 G6, it is mounted to the power steering pump near the alternator. Remove the dipstick from the reservoir. The fluid level should be in the cross-hatched area of the dipstick. Add small amount of power steering fluid until the level is correct.

The power steering message comes on 2006 g6 what should i do

first check and make sure your power steering fluid is up to full mark. Then check to make sure fan belt that turns the power steering pump is tight and not slipping. I suspect the belt is slipping and it probably happened when it was wet.

Where is the power steering resovoir on a pontiac G6 2006

Hello! If you have a V6 engine - then the resevoir is located on the right side of (as your facing) the motor, and roughly centered on the engine's side. You will see a cap with a yellow symbol that looks like a steering wheel. If your car is a 4 cylinder - you have an electric steering system, and therefore, no power steering fluid reservoir is present, or necessary.

Hope this helps!

The power steering to my Pontiac G6 2006 keeps locking up when I turn sharp corners or pull in and our of parking spaces. What could be causing this?

if you have hydraulic steering, might be damaged components or low fluid if you have the dreaded electric steering, also could be a failing component Either way, have it checked immediately (despite a 2 year response).
