it sounds like a broken wire in the engine wiring loom disconect the wires from the coil pack and and check for continuity from them to the engine controll module

A safety device called the "neutral safety switch" will not allow you to start your car unless it is in Park or Neutral.If you start the car in neutral be careful it doesn't roll by applying the park brake.Then service the shifter-clutch to repair.
Hi I am Vortash sounds like an inlet manifold air leak or check the ignition leads they could be sparking out to earth , or possibly the choke is stuck on or filter needs changing restricting air flow .. Hope this is of help regards Vortash
