Puzzling, as all my Makita 6410 searches indicate it is a TOOL, not a car. It fact, the only Makita car I can find is a remote toy:

If you do a search for a Makita car image via Google, guess what. You don't get any cars. So, I am truly baffled by the question. If you truly have such a vehicle, time to call the dealer.

that year they had 4 radios.
and the FSM and oper . guide is devoid of Pin code instructions.
only the FSM states all issues with radio are dealer only issues.
my cars this old have newer radios installed.

Get hold of your engine supplier and ask for the ECU (computer) and the whole wiring from the same Jeep ASAP.

Ask them can you stop by an compare the connectors and pin-out

There are few different between Federal and California emission.

California emission engine + ECU will have more sensors.

Make the call ASAP and take careful note on the pin-out from the org. Jeep.

No, you could have taken too long in changing the batteries and the remote has "lost it's code". Take it to a Chrysler/Jeep dealer and for $10-15 they can "reflash" it. I did it to one of my remotes on my '04 Dakota. Had to take the remote to the dealer....2-3 minutes later it was fixed. (It tells this in the owner's manual, but it's buried in there.) On my Dak, if I take more than 6 minutes to change the batteries..."dumb" remote. Page 261 in my manual. My glucomitor loses it's mind if I take too long changing batteries too. Ain't modern electronics grand? (I didn't ask if all your remotes don't work...that could be from a weak car battery or bad battery cables. That's part of the "security" system. Ask me how I found out....)

1. buy an extra key from howard keys
2. get key cut at home depot
3. follow instructions in vehicle manual for programming key
4. find ignition wires, and properly identify as ignition, accessory, and start.
5. connect appropriate wires with secure method
6. find & connect proper ground, typically in kick panel.
7. connect brake, tach, hood pin, and parking brake wires.
8. create bypass relay with proper gauge and loops of wire around key, and cylinder.
9. program per manual

turn the back of the remote over and take the back piece off. On the backside, you will find that it has a circular battery on the back. Gently, with a small sharp object, take the battery out and go to a nearest wal mart or store that sales the battery. The battery should come in a individual pack or sold as two. Once you have peurchased the small battery, gently and carefuly reinstall the battery and carefully put the lid back on the backside of the remote. DO NOT TOUCH THE GREENPART OF THE CAR REMOTE WHEN INSTALLING THE BATTERY. This could damage the microchip inside the remote, causing the frequency to not be disrtibuted when unlocking on locking the car. If this does not work, go to your nearest jeep dealer and ask for it to be replaced. Give the service representative the vin(vehicle identification number)number when requesting this, beacause this tells the dealer everything about your particular jeep. If that doesnt work, then the reciver in the jeep that recives the signal needs to be repalced.
